6.2 -> 7.0 - Upgrade Path

Hi Team,

We have PME6.2-4 on our system & have been tasked with upgrading to 7.0

From what I've read everywhere, I need to go from 6.2 > 6.3 > 6.4 > 7.0
Is this correct? Can I go straight from 6.2 to 7? Why so many small jumps instead of going to a new major release (7) directly?

With so many steps, it would be easier to just install 7 on fresh VM's and export the settings & import into a new install.

i'm guessing you mean PVE? (or pmg?) if yes i'll move the thread into the correct forum (this is the PBS subforum)

in any case, you first need to update to the latest version of your current major release, iow. from 6.2 to 6.4 and then to 7.x

this is of course also a possibility. backup the guests/config (test the backups) onto another drive/share/etc.., reinstall with 7.x and restore from backup
