Greeting to All,

I have an old physical server running windows server 2016 and ms sql server.
Use Veeam Bare-metal restore migrated the physical server to VM under Promox 8.2 environment.
Everything is fine except when pinging by other servers (physical or VMs) or vice versa the result is 11-12ms on average.
VM running windows server created in PVE do not have this issues (ping result =<1ms).

On the other hand, copying files via network seems do not have performance issue.

The data bridge are 1 Gb speed.

I tried to migrate another newer physical server running windows server 2016 and ms sql server still got the same result.
I've tried to change other model virtual network cards and machine type the result is the same.

Anyone met similar issue? Any idea?

Thanks!
Daniel.

It sounds like a weird latency issue you're dealing with after migrating your server. I had a similar problem when I moved an older physical server to a VM, and it turned out to be a mix of things. First, I’d check the network adapter settings; sometimes switching between VirtIO and e1000 can make a difference. Also, make sure your Windows network settings are optimized—turning off IPv6 helped me a bit. Don't forget to look into the Proxmox bridge settings, just to rule out any misconfigurations there. And if you have any security software running, it might be worth checking if that’s causing the delay.
