Here is my setup. I have an HP Proliant DL160 Gen9 with a HPe 561T 10Gb NIC, attached to an Aruba S2500. I also have a desktop running TrueNAS Scale attached to the same switch. Both are connected to 10gb ports. I thought perhaps I was having an issue with the switch or the SFP+ tranceivers, cables, etc. So I tested them every which way I could imagine, changing tranceivers amongst both computer, using fiber or a DAC cable. Nothing helped. When I did an iperf3 from Proxmox to the TrueNAS I got 2.5mb the first update, then zero's the rest of the time. So I put a new NIC in Proxmox, the one that is in it now. I could not figure out how to get Proxmox to work with the new NIC from the console so I just reinstalled from scratch. Once I reinstalled, running iperf3 I could get 9.4gb between the two very repeatedly without errors. So I thought I had solved my issue. I thought the card I had removed, an old x520 based Intel card had to be the problem. This was last night. Get up this morning and the fresh install of Proxmox 7.3-1 had found lots of updates. Once it pulled down the updates to 7.3-6 I rebooted and tried to do a backup. Proxmox said it couldn't reach the TrueNas box. Tried iperf again and nothing. To add to the mystery, I can iperf to my machine on a 1gb port no problem, I can ping the server, the vm's, it's that 10gb to 10gb quits working.
I'm fairly certain now if I reinstall again everything will work. I realize I'm using the unstable update source and this is part of that experience. Before I go back to 7.3-1 does anyone have any ideas how to make it work on 7.3-6?
