Hi!

I apt upgraded a DL360G6 from 1.5 to 1.6 and now have this message at boot:

DMAR:[fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set

This is the last one of the kernel boot menu. The system is frozen. I got this message during the second server boot. At first, the system was not booting at all and I got "NMI-undetermined source".

Any idea on this problem?

Sincerely,

Stephane

Seems not related to Proxmox VE. Hardware problem on the server. HP changed the mother board...

ok, thanks for feedback!

Just to know.

After they changed the mother board it was impossible to use the NIC board (ip mounted but no communication). I had to install a fresh proxmox ve to have the system working.

All Debian systems stores the MAC address from the NIC, so as you got a new NIC/MAC this does not fit anymore. an easy fix would be to delete the old stored MAC address. But yes, reinstalling is also an option :-)

Oh yes, I've forgotten this. Greuu ! I had to reload 100 Go of OpenVZ hosts...

For next time, do you remember where Dedian store the MAC address?

System is still completly unstable with 1.6 and DL360G6. I got "DMAR:[fault reason 06] PTE Read access is not set" after the last CT loaded. The system froze. Before it froze, GUI managment can't be accessed.

pve-manager: 1.6-2 (pve-manager/1.6/5087)
running kernel: 2.6.32-4-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.6-19
pve-kernel-2.6.32-3-pve: 2.6.32-14
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-19
qemu-server: 1.1-18
pve-firmware: 1.0-8
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-14
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.24-1pve4
vzdump: 1.2-7
vzprocps: 2.0.11-1dso2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.12.5-1
ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-4

I seem to have found the culprit.

If hpacucli_8.50-6.0.3-3_amd64.deb is installed, the kernel 2.6.32 crash and freeze the server. Do the same with oldest version of hpacucli. The system crash about 5 minutes after the server is loaded. It's repetitive.

Will try later with pve-2.6.24.

is is stable without this hp tool?

Sorry, I can't test right now. I have no HP server left to test. The DL360G6 is back in production (without hpacucli).
