Hi All,
A very quick question. I have 4 hard drives installed into my proxmox server, they are totally unused, don't even have a GPT partition on them. How can I get Proxmox to spin them down when not in use?
For reference, I know that spinning down HDDs will ultimately reduce their life...
Hello all,
I am curious about the behavior I am seeing while using amd_pstate=active in my grub configuration. I have EPP set to "balance_performance" and the scaling governor set to "powersave". This seems to so far to be the best method for power reduction without totally killing performance...
Hello,
at the moment I am thinking about shifting my Proxmox VE to a new server.
First some information about my system running at the moment:
Mainboard: GA-MA69G-S3H
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690S (old CPU model from the year 2014)
The system runs with 7 VMs and 4 LXCs at around 40% CPU load.
The...
I use a computer with 2 Xeon Gold 6140 CPUs to install proxmox. When the machine is idle, I check the frequency and it is running at the base frequency (2.3 Ghz) for all cores. The driver being used is intel_pstate. Governor mode is "performance".
- When I switch the governor to "powersave"...
I recently switched to proxmox on a
Dell OptiPlex 7050:
3.4 GHz Intel Core i5-7500 Quad-Core
32GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM
512GB SSD NVMe PCIe
no spinning disks
baseline power consumption: 28W (thus without any VM's running)
Is this OK? Some people suggest that it is rather high, but when I run...
The machine on which i have proxmox 6.2 VE installed is not constantly in use but runs at max CPU all the time. I installed acpid to have it manage CPU states properly.
When i run yacpi or acpitail i get a message suggesting ACPI is not available for this system. The BIOS has all power managed...
Hey everyone,
can someone tell me if this will work how i think:
Ryzen 3 3200G for example has integrated graphics (APU), is it possible with proxmox to passthrough the APU to a win10 VM or does grapics passthrough only work with real GPUs?
If APU passthrough is possible: Will the APU part of...
