I've been searching the threads and nothing I've tried is working...
I'm unable to login via the GUI (the GUI works, but I get a login failure when I use the root credentials).
I can ssh just fine with those same root credentials, but I'm not sure what to try next to get the GUI login to work...
Okay, I destroyed the zpool and have decided on raidz1 instead of raidz2 (thanks for the insight and help on that, BTW).
But I seem to still be having the same problem...
Here's the steps I took when I tried to redo the process:
1. Created the ZFS - PVE>nodename>Disks>ZFS>Create: ZFS
2. Set ZFS...
It's very possible (maybe likely) that I'm doing something wrong, but here's what I'm failing to accomplish:
I have 8 disks (in addition to the two disks I set up as a mirrored raid for the PVE installation) physically connected to my PVE server. I created a ZFS pool (raidz2) with four of them...
If I set up a second bridge network and a router, can I just use that network for PXE and leave me main LAN as is? Seems like I could use PXE to boot the VM originally, then go in and add the first bridge network, remove the second, and set the static IP of the VM....?
I want to create a PXE server/service using a VM I'll build on Proxmox (I'm planning to use Ubuntu Server 20.04, but I'm open to any better suggestions.). My home router already provides DHCP for the local LAN, but most of the tutorials I've seen for setting up a PXE server require ensuring the...
I think I found the issue.
I was running the command on the VM's terminal, not on the host's shell. When I run it on the shell, I get the following:
Last login: Wed Jul 1 07:59:09 EDT 2020 on pts/0
Linux Zeus 5.4.34-1-pve #1 SMP PVE 5.4.34-2 (Thu, 07 May 2020 10:02:02 +0200) x86_64

I have this same question. I have a VM stored on an LVM, but I need to create a snapshot of the VM. Is it possible for me to convert the LVM to LVM thin? Or do I have to create a new LVM thin on another disk, then relocate the VM's Hard Drive?
Found the solution:
in the PVE GUI, I went to Datacenter>Storage and found the directories there, selected them, and clicked "Remove" at the top.
They are now no longer listed in the Server View pane.
I recently accidentally deleted some directories in my PVE while attempting to cleanup storage and disks. I've solved the issue of the VMs in my list (thanks, community!!!!), but now, my issue is that the directories are still listed in both my Server View pane and under...
I recently deleted a directory in my PVE that contained three VMs. Now, not only can I not access them (understandably), but they still appear in my VM list (Server view) on the left pane.
I was planning to rebuild these VMs anyway, so I'm not interested in recovering them, unless it's really...
