    Borg Backup with Proxmox

No. Or at least - not yet. S3 is on the roadmap.

    ChromeOS guest

They are supposed to work on regular pc with amd64 processor. For example see here: https://fydeos.io/download/pc I had the biggest success with FydeOS with bios boot: It at least displays message: (...and that's the end). I tested various configs. The current one looks so: boot: cores: 4...

    ChromeOS guest

Has anyone succeed with installation of ChromeOS Flex (or FydeOS) in VM? I downloaded installation images from Google/Fyde, but I am not able to boot them up in VM. Both bios/efi boot method do not work. Efi is able to find efi partition and some files on it, but still does not boot. Fyde goes...

    trim container filesystem on lvm-thin

What is the "correct" way to automatically trim filesystems residing in lvm-thin pool? I can see there is "pct fstrim" command and I can run it manually (and it works!), but... it seems strange that such important functionality have to be done manually. Is there any "standard way" of doing it...

    exclude filesystem from snapshot

Downside: When I removed "mp" and replaced with "lxc.mount.entry" - PVE forgot that the dataset was not meant to be replicated and began to replicate it... :-( Now the dataset is visible as "unused disk" (which seems correct), but anyway PVE replicates it to another node. Any way to skip...

    exclude filesystem from snapshot

I have a container with a couple of ZFS mount points. One of them contains plenty of fast changing temporary data and I generally do not want to keep them in snapshots. (The problem: the dataset has <100GB, but a month of daily snapshots effectively uses 1TB of disk. because the temporary data...

    node disk full 100%

Oh, I did not notice it's so old... Generally Debian/Proxmox kernels are rock solid, but yeah, there is potential to go wrong... I wouldn't cry. I bet it's something easy. Just find out what folder has grown up and solution should be obvious. Downgrade kernel, delete junk and you should be fine...

    node disk full 100%

Considering it was filled up within a couple of hours - you should not enlarge it. You should find the reason and resolve it. (Backups? Temp folder?) Start with sudo du -hxs /* and go deeper then.

    Borg Backup with Proxmox

But after the disaster you will have to download back the whole datastore before you begin with recovery. If you had another PBS server remotely, then you could (1) begin immediately and (2) download only what you need.

    Borg Backup with Proxmox

With such a big datastore (at least relatively to bandwidth) - any rsync/rclone/borg method seems useless. Most likely you will never get consistent backup (remember the datastore changes all the time). The consistent copy should be "atomic", for example from a snapshot of original datastore...

    CT live restore? [feature request?]

I just had to restore large container and it took a lot of time. Have you thought about live restore feature? It works great with VMs. In theory it shoud be possible. My thoughts: - pbs client have "mount" feature, so it is possible to mount the backup and have all data available immediately -...

Hetzner installimage proxmox + 4 diff drives

Whatever you do... use ZFS. :) In your case I think the answer is simple: 2x512GB/nvme - zfs mirror (for root fs and essential CT/VM files); 2x8TB - zfs mirror (for data). Storagebox for backups, ct images, extra data also seems fine. Just make sure to have the box in the same data center where...

Problem snapshotting VMs with current PVE version (2024-06-27) using pve-qemu-kvm >= 8.2

I confirm the same problem here. Downgrading to pve-qemu-kvm:amd64=8.1.5-6 did the job!

    normal?

The problem is that for many years I had 50 rejects a day, and now I have 50 within a couple of minutes. I have had my own smtp server in open Internet for 25 years, and spam rate has always been below ~50%. I now it seems to be 99.9%. So the question is - was I simply very lucky in the past and...

    normal?

Hi, I need your thoughts... I have small local server that receives 20 or maybe 50 legitimate mails a day. I has been so for years and worked perfect. And it still works perfect, but my tracking center looks so: PMG does its job excellent - all these mails are spam and indeed should be...

    encrypted storage

This seems very promising: https://github.com/rfjakob/gocryptfs?tab=readme-ov-file (I haven't tested yet.)

    encrypted storage

I considered something like encfs, but did not do any tests yet.
