I'm in the same boat. Thanks for clearing this up. So if I have an 8 core 16 thread CPU and wanted to allocate 100% of it to a VM, I would give the VM 16 Cores? (Since it considers threads and cores the same thing)

I would do this, but I had to the use same drive to re install on the other laptop. If I get time I'll reinstall it again on the old laptop and get you this information

Hi @Vaielab so I am trying the link you sent. I am currently having an issues as you can see in this picture When I try and add the drive I get the error message that the config file does not exist. Where does the number 592 come from anyway?

So just an update, I reinstalled on another laptop and it works fine! So I guess its a driver issue or something strange with this other laptop

Hi all, so first off I am brand new to Proxmox. I have a server with ubuntu server installed on it. I am wanting to switch it out and install Proxmox onto another drive and then boot my exsisitng OS drive inside of Proxmox as a VM. Is this possible?
