Haha, nice joke, my company want's to run an old program exactly on this super old xp machine  OK, I found a work-around, I created a new backup-task exactly for this machine and instead of "mode: stop" I used "mode: suspend".
Silly thing, it works exactly one time but in all other cases (I got mails) it failed.
XP VM: "Backup of VM 106 failed - command 'qm shutdown 106 --skiplock --keepActive --timeout 600' failed: exit code 255".
I searched much but didn't find a solution. All linux VMs did shutdown and reboot properly. Has any one an idea? VM was directly created with a vhd-tool from an old real windows installation when I remember it correctly. Proxmox 6.0.4 is running.
Don't know if this exactly fits the need of this thread but after many days and tons of angry hours I finally get the following working: A XP-Mode VHD into an Windows 7 VM (you can also use Windows 10) with VirtualBox and two further tricks: https://app.box.com/s/uwic433l1mx4ypvi8eqpvxqubz8o97ie
This thread is really old but I want to post an actual solution. I tried for so many hours, maybe this helps somebody: https://app.box.com/s/uwic433l1mx4ypvi8eqpvxqubz8o97ie

Today I did some same steps as some week ago and now I remember, what I had done. It has something to do with holding the SHIFT key and typing some capital letters and then release the SHIFT key, now something goes wrong and I have to press it again.

The LED on the keyboard stays the same in both systems, but I have to press caps lock manually, so the VM has little letters when caps lock is on and when I turn it off the VM has big letters for example . This happens with the embedded noVNC. I don't know what you mean with popup. Fullscreen...
I'm also facing weird issues with linux and windows OSes. Caps lock and normal mode is changed many times without my input. Sometimes I get crazy with that. My guest os has caps lock and when I change back to my main system I always have to change the caps key. Several weeks ago I installed the...
