First of all: Solved, and thank you for pointing me on the right direction.
The issue
When I installed this host, I created all my VM as linux container; in the last months I converted quite all lxc to vm. Then the problem appeared (see my other post).
When looking on /etc/network/interfaces...

This is the actual setup that is causing issues, so I ask for an alternate setup.

Hi all,
I have this situation: server hosted on a hosting provider; they assigned to eno1 port of the ProxMox host four different public IP addresses; main IP (82.195.231.243) is dedicated to ProxMox web management consolle; I would like to use the next three addresses (82.195.231.244 / 245 and...
Thanks for your answer. The only IP I set on the bridge is the host main IP, that is different from the VM IP; I think (but I'm not so sure...) that the secondary IPs are automatically assigned by the provider via DHCP. Unfortunately their customer support is very slow so I have to be sure that...
Dear Mira, we have a problem, or better: A question.

I'm not concerned about the traffic itself, it's all encrypted but the file is quite big: > 4Mb already gzipped and the forum engine reject it. How big is your mailbox?
No way, after some hours after changing the NIC MAC address, issue reappeared.
Can you suggest me a checklist? Otherwise the only option I have is to recreate the VM from scratch and hope...
I changed now the MAC address with a new random one and we will see; IP address has been assigned by the hosting provider and I cannot change them; I have just 12 machine on this (unique) host so it's quite easy to keep track of internally assigned IP addresses; just to test I shut down the...
Hi,
I'm having issue with network on an host based on ProxMox VE version 6.4-13.
Very often one of the VM (is a qemu virtual machine) seems to be offline; in reality the traffic is not forwarded to the VM but is routed to the host machine.
My situation:
- The datacenter where the machine is...
Hi all,
I have this machine setup:
1. LXC - corpweb - With one NIC address 191.168.20.110/24;
2. VM - nginx-proxy - With two NICs: ens18 with an external IP and ens20 address 192.168.20.106/24. This VM is used as gateway for all VMs and LXCs;
Both VM and LXC are on a proxmox host on a...
Adding these three lines at the local interface on the router machine seems to be enough.

Hi all,
I have two fully virtualized guests, both debian 10.
The first guest has two nic, one with a public ip and the second with an internal only network (10.10.10.10/8) both on different vmbr: first eth0 with public ip on vmbr0 and second eth1 - local only on vmbr1.
The second guest has just...
Hi all,
on the (exposed) IP address of the ProxMox VE node (the IP where the http console is listening) there is also open the SSH port where I can login through SSH client to this address with a password.
As my experience lots of people try brute force attacks to this port when is exposed and...
This link also help: How To Assign Multiple IP Addresses To Single Network Card In Linux
It's a bit more detailed.
Now it works... I don't understand why it doesn't worked until I deleted all my edits on the /etc/networks/interfaces file then re-entered everything as before and rebooted the...
Both tested yesterday, the legacy and the iproute2 without result: First address works correctly, just one the other three are taken up randomy and the other two simply ignored...
