Trim VM filesystem while vm running?

That sounds like it may be safe that, when I pause a VM, do fstrim and unpause the VM afterwards?

Trim VM filesystem while vm running?

Hi, is it possible and safe to trim/discard a VMs filesystem from outside(proxmox host) while the vm is online? I have some non-fstrim-enabled VMs on a proxmox host with lvm thin provisioning and I want to fstrim the vms filesystem regularly. So I thought I shutdown the VM and mount the VM...

[SOLVED] Possible Bug in PVE 6.1: smartctl and physical sector size

Ok. Seems it is a typical PEBCAK problem: I got some information from my smartctl command, but it's not the way smartctl is to be handled with that controller. The correct command, I found out now, is: # smartctl command for the first of the controllers SAS disks: smartctl -i /dev/sg3 -d...

[SOLVED] Possible Bug in PVE 6.1: smartctl and physical sector size

repositories are pve default. (enterprise repo disabled) - because this is only a testing machine.

[SOLVED] Possible Bug in PVE 6.1: smartctl and physical sector size

Ok. I'll try another Controller if possible. I can not use the onboard controller of the board, because the drives are SAS-Drives.

[SOLVED] Possible Bug in PVE 6.1: smartctl and physical sector size

Hi, I just checked out Proxmox VE 6.1 and was trying to do some storage benchmarks. When I want to figure out the hard disks physical sector size with smartctl, I get different values on every call: smartctl -i /dev/sdc | grep -i Phy Physical block size: 16384 bytes...

    XCP-ng 8.0 and Proxmox VE 6.1

Yes. That's my experience too. It sometimes took ages to get migrations finished and often it just did not work(failed at some point). Sometimes it worked after multiple retries, sometimes it didn't.

    XCP-ng 8.0 and Proxmox VE 6.1

Well the issue was long ago, so I for sure can not remember all details of the case. What I'm sure of: It was no quorum issue. I couldn't get even the quorum information out of pvecm status (That blocked too) or trying to override the quorum with pvecm expected 1 ... and I'm sure if I had...

    XCP-ng 8.0 and Proxmox VE 6.1

I really like PVE a lot. It works great! However what I prefer of citrix XenServer/citrix Hypervisor/XCP-NG is the loose coupled servers. I once had a problem within Proxmox Cluster management with PVE 4.x or 5.x (not sure), some years ago: The Cluster didn't respond any more. No cluster...

[pve 5.4.5] API laufende Tasks auslesen/Ende feststellen?

Ok.

[pve 5.4.5] API laufende Tasks auslesen/Ende feststellen?

[pve 5.4.5] pvesh migrate minor bug "garbage after JSON-Object"
