Cool. I like the old way of promox 2 and 3 with openvz containers - that was working fine and never and disk I/O problems. I will check the guide, thanks!
For those who are facing the same problem - indeed, the problem is in RAW disks. I've switched to chroot as described here:

That fixed my problem completely. It works flawlessly now.
