[SOLVED] Upgraded pve disk to new nvme. Attempting to mount pve--OLD failing.

I rebooted again this time and I chose my other, assumedly old, pve install on the sata disk. It showed the .83 kernel as an option. So either I have the wrong one I am chosing as a default uefi boot option (which I dont think so) or the update-grub command is updating the wrong one. Anyway I...

[SOLVED] Upgraded pve disk to new nvme. Attempting to mount pve--OLD failing.

I found update-grub. Still no idea why I would need to do this manually. oot@pve01:~# update-grub Generating grub configuration file ... Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-5.15.83-1-pve Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-5.15.83-1-pve Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-5.15.30-2-pve Found initrd...

[SOLVED] Upgraded pve disk to new nvme. Attempting to mount pve--OLD failing.

I rebooted it again, fully powered it off then back on and watched it come online. It again booted kernel '5.15.74-1-pve'. I tried to update/upgrade again and it shows no updates available. Any recommendations for manually setting the new kernel as default in grub? Any clue why I am having...

[SOLVED] Upgraded pve disk to new nvme. Attempting to mount pve--OLD failing.

Ok but I have rebooted several times. The PVE iso on my usb drive I installed from was 7.2.1, the first thing I did was update and reboot. Now I am wondering if it is booting off the grub on the old hard drive. root@pve01:~# uname -r 5.15.74-1-pve root@pve01:~# apt list --installed | grep...

[SOLVED] Upgraded pve disk to new nvme. Attempting to mount pve--OLD failing.

I got a new small nvme disk for my pve installation so I installed a fresh copy of PVE to it and I am attempting to mount pve--OLD to copy my /etc/pve directory to the new installation but I seem to be missing something. It tells me that XFS is an unknown filesystem yet xfs is installed and I...

    LXC container with unlimited cpulimit/memory

Bump, This unlimited for Plex transcoding is the use case I am interested in as well. This is the default behavior of docker but it seems Proxmox's LXC implementation has a different strategy

Proxmox with Docker (bonding) network help

So I got a new server for my Docker Plex environment, a beefy dual Xeon Dell Precision. I thought I would run a virtual lab environment on the same hardware so I installed Proxmox but I am struggling coming from more of a vmware background. I really like Plex on Docker for its community and...

New to Prox and my guests cant reach physical network

New to Prox and my guests cant reach physical network

I have redone this a million times. I have done static addresses and DHCP on the guests. No matter what I am unable to reach the 192.168.x.x network from the guests. As you can see I have tried several different combinations for NICs and bridges. changing the guests to access vmbr0 or vmbr1...

New to Prox and my guests cant reach physical network

When I give the guest a static IP I am still unable to communicate with any other devices. No pingy pingy! I have altered my networking as you advised and still not luck. I added an additional bond interface with a 192.168.10.15 address, now I can ping this address but I am unable to ssh or...

Hi I am brand new to Proxmox, switching from ESXi free for my homelab. So far I really like it but I cant seem to get my networking straight. Proxmox is running on a machine that came with 2x built in NICs and I popped in a 4x port Intel NIC I had laying around. I have it all installed, the...
