Faster than 10gig nic recommendations? 25/100Gbit?

We're doing some infrastructure upgrades. Our new switches have support for 25 and 100Gbit. Does anyone have any recommendations for 25 nics that work well with Proxmox?

Moving VM disks on hosts with no shared storage, but not using replication.

    KVM1 is an old install. KVM2 is brand new. root@kvm1:~# pveversion -v proxmox-ve: 7.0-2 (running kernel: 5.11.22-5-pve) pve-manager: 7.0-11 (running version: 7.0-11/63d82f4e) pve-kernel-helper: 7.1-2 pve-kernel-5.11: 7.0-8 pve-kernel-5.4: 6.4-5 pve-kernel-5.11.22-5-pve: 5.11.22-10...

Moving VM disks on hosts with no shared storage, but not using replication.

hmm... This is what happens when I try to migrate a running VM from one PM host to another.

Moving VM disks on hosts with no shared storage, but not using replication.

I have two servers in a "cluster". I don’t have any shared storage between them, and I don’t really want to setup replication between them as I’m not using ZFS. So my question is, how do I move machine qcow images between the hosts? I don’t need to migrate the qcow files while the VMs are...

    Feature Request

Hey Everyone, I posted a feature request almost three years ago via bugzilla. https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1930 It's still listed as new. So i'm not sure if I posted it incorrectly to bugzilla, or if the team isn't interested in making this feature.. but I still find myself...

Some thoughts on making live storage migration better.

We have 4 Proxmox host servers and two different NFS servers for VM storage. We usually we manually distribute the VM storage load between them. The two NFS storage servers are all flash and have 10 gig connections to our ProxMox hosts. A few times a year we need to update the firmware on our...

    Windows Server Network Adapter crash?

I'm having this exact same issue on a few hosts and guests. Windows just seems to drop it's network connection until i reboot the guest.

    Where to post feature requests?

We love Proxmox and this year finally bailed on VMware! I'm wondering where or how end users can request new features. In the forum? Via email? Looking forward to many happy years with Proxmox. Thanks!

    Removal of host from cluster?

Removing the node from /etc/pve/corosync.conf on one of the hosts did the trick. The change was also pushed to all the other nodes. Thanks!

    Removal of host from cluster?

hmm.. I ran this on pm1 and tried a new browser. systemctl restart corosync systemctl restart pve-cluster Still no luck. So i ran the command on all the hosts in the cluster. Completely reset safari, and firefox. Same issue.

    Removal of host from cluster?

I'm trying to delete a host from an existing cluster. I read over some threads, specifically this one: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/deleted-cluster-node-still-shows-up-in-webinterface-pve-4-1.26819/ I ran this: root@pm1:~# pvecm nodes Membership information ----------------------...

    Mass storage migration?

Circling back around to this and trying to see if proxmox is able to replace vmware for us again. I've installed version 5.1 of proxmox and am trying to figure out the mass storage migration situation again. For some reason this doesn't work for me: root@Jamielab2:~# pvesh create...

    Migrate VMs from down server

Maybe this is a feature request, but if I have all my VMs on shared storage, and one of the hosts goes down, I would think i should be able to "migrate" the downed VMs to a working host. Obviously, it would be recovering from the last saved state on the shared storage or whatever. I guess...
