@Amin Vakil this actually sounds quite promising. However does this mean, i would have to create a separate vmbr-device for every guest and the host? Maybe it would be enough to create a separate vmbr device for the host only? Or do we even need separate hardware eth devices on the server...

update: Today we got this message on one of our systems again. there's definitely no rpc service running on it anymore... So here we are, stuck again... after so many months thinking we finally have found the cause... Any ideas anyone? Thanks Sascha

hm...same here: ps ax | grep rpc 417 ? I< 0:00 [rpciod] can't seem to be killed nor does rebooting prevent this from reappearing. So i think, this can be ignored, seems to be some workqueue in the kernel. Nevertheless, i am still confident, disabling and stopping all rpc services...

Hi, are you sure you have disabled every single service systemctl | grep -i rpc shows you? These messages are currently going out again with high frequency at Hetzner... Our solution seems to work here still... But actually i have been desperately trying to find the root cause over the last 2...

can give all-clear. It seems that not all snapshots were checked during the first verification, but only a few...Can't say exactly why. But I have now checked all snapshots again and no longer have any bad chunks. thanks for your help Sascha

hi @Emil Makariev just some update from me: Back then i did disable the remaining services the command systemctl | grep -i rpc showed, and never had any issues with this again. I make use of the integrated FW quite a lot. HTH Sascha
