    Using CIFS/NFS as datastore

Thank you. "noforce" was what I was missing for it to work.

    Using CIFS/NFS as datastore

Well I could just get a small factor PC to run as PBS, if network storage is actually supported. But this is just my homelab, and I am just testing out PBS at the moment.

    Using CIFS/NFS as datastore

Yep same here. I run PBS as a VM, so I would prefer some network storage. Right now I have just added an extra disk on that storage, but would prefer NFS/CIFS if possible.

    Using CIFS/NFS as datastore

Firsty, so pleased about the news about this product. Probably one of the biggest improvement you could make for Proxmox. So I got the PBS setup, but since my current backup data are on my NAS, I would like to add it as CIFS/NFS share. But when I create datastore pointing to /mnt/pvebackup it...

    ZFS over ISCSI ?

As far as I know, if we want shared storage with snapshot etc. CEPH is the only option and that is just too advanced for my small homelab setup

    ZFS over ISCSI ?

I tested it some time ago. Decided to drop it since apparently LXC is not supported on that. FreeNAS is not supported anymore, so I went with Nas4Free for testing if I remember correct. I really wish there were some shared storage with the same features as ZFS (Local)

Choosing a storage type for LXC containers in an HA cluster

(Not OP) you still cant zfs sync live VMs, right? Atleast I still couldnt get it to work

    +1 would love this

Proxmox 5.1 Restore VM very low

What SSDs are you using? Your fsync are really low . So maybe it is a I/O problem

Best Storage Config for Two Node Cluster?

Think you misunderstood me. For a shared NFS I meant a seperate storage system. Else you would have problems when you decide to reboot the host running NFS share.

Best Storage Config for Two Node Cluster?

I would recommend some shared storage. NFS maybe for simplicity. If you dont want that. I think your only option is zfs then

    ProxMox Cluster with iSCSI Storage

I dont know if this will work in proxmox, it does on vmware. Create a record in the host file on both server, where you point a dns name to the 2 different IPs. Then both of your hosts, should see it as the same storage Like this: host1: iscsi-name 192.168.130.2 host2: iscsi-name...

Will LXC ever be supported on ZFS over ISCSI?

yeah definately. Where do I do that?

Will LXC ever be supported on ZFS over ISCSI?

Okay so maybe I should have worded "all types" differently. But should have been pretty obvious what I meant. Obviously I meant with snapshot, which are the feature I am requesting. I am well aware I can use Directory, nfs etc etc. If I just want a storage type that would work with the file format.

Will LXC ever be supported on ZFS over ISCSI?

So this was a useless reply. What can I use this for? NFS already does the same you just said. Please dont comment if you dont have any meaninful to contribute.

Will LXC ever be supported on ZFS over ISCSI?

Yeah sadly it does not support LXC. I just dont get why there aren`t a shared storage solution that support all types. Unless you are using something like CEPH, you have to go on a compromise with something

Will LXC ever be supported on ZFS over ISCSI?

But would that support snapshot then? What I really want is the way ZFS (Local) works as a shared storage. I dont like the idea that I have to run lxc on local storage, when a shared storage should be a viable option EDIT: What was the reason for the decline?

Will LXC ever be supported on ZFS over ISCSI?

I am on the hunt for a shared storage where I can use both VMs and LXC with snapshot. I really want to use ZFS over ISCSI. But from what I could gather last time I tried, it is not supported for LXC? I know CEPH is an option, but it just seem too complex for my little homelab.
