That was the first thing I checked - it wasn't in /etc/ssh/sshd_config, so I added it.
Something else to note, I discovered I can get to the web interface from OUTSIDE my network - but ssh is blocked as it should be.
So . . . that's strange. I think it's a routing issue on my pfsense vm now...
So . . .
Suddenly in the last week or so (I don't check on my home server much b/c it 'just works') I now get 'Login Failed' on the web interface, and 'access denied' on ssh. But same account/password works if I plug a monitor in & login on the physical machine.
Other than updates I have NO...
I don't *think* it's missing drivers b/c it will bring up vmbr 0/1/2/3/4/5, and on the dhcp set ones searches for an address. Maybe an driver that's wonky tho?
I'll try jessie later and see. This machine is at a friends house, so I have go there to work on it until I can get it online.
So I won one in a contest (yay) and I'm using it to piddle around.
It has 6 eth ports & an iLO. Neat.
Proxmox installs ok, but has NO network connectivity.
I can't pull dhcp addresses from the netgear router in the house where I'm setting it up.
But an ubuntu live cd will. As will ubuntu...
My router is another VM running pfsense.
It has vmbr5 on 192.168.5.1. The containers use it as a gateway. The thing that is so odd to me is that eventually they get full connectivity. I don't understand why it takes so long.
It sounds like I missed a crucial point with containers - they...
I'm running pfsense on a proxmox 4 install.
99% of it is running great.
However, when I reboot a vm (havent' checked with real hardware yet) it takes over 10+ minutes (sometimes much more) to get network connectivity outside it's lan.
All my vm's are on 192.168.5.xxx, gateway .5.1 and are...
Right now, the only thing I'm wanting that would work better w/ direct access to the hardware is Emby. It supports transcoding via the intel gpu on my processor.
Ohterwise, the only reason I could see to use a container is it would be lighter/smaller. Most of what I want to run will run on...
First, I haven't set up my system yet (home server) as last parts are due today.
But I'm still unclear on how Proxmox differentiates a VM from a container?
As I understand it, a VM is the whole OS. It will simulate booting from power off to desktop/cli at full boot. But a container is NOT the...
Well, I'm going to use software raid on the debian host, so that simplifies things. That's fine for my needs. Raid is serving as 'almost back up' as the media on it will never be important to me. It's just tv/movies in an easy to access manner. Time consuming to rebuild, but not a major loss...
Your PS is almost gibberish to me. LOL
I get the basic idea - group the 5 storage drives, then put two SSD's on top as a cache. That gives about half the performance of an SSD, but all the space of the platters. Is that correct?
Honestly, I don't think I need that much performance, as the...
Loosely related to my other thread (http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/24771-Mass-storage-how-to-make-it-available-to-multiple-vms).
I'm planning on having Emby in a vm. Emby can make use of the Intel 530 graphics for transcoding.
How can I allow Emby access to the 'real' on cpu graphics from...
Makes sense.
Is there a How-To somewhere?
I'm not sure how to make it available . . . oh, wait, virt0 is really just a switch. So Proxmox IS on the network. I keep forgetting that. I keep thinking of it like the floor, and all the stuff is built on, but not really connected to it.
Still, a...
