Planning on having Emby in a VM . . .

Loosely related to my other thread (http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/24771-Mass-storage-how-to-make-it-available-to-multiple-vms).


I'm planning on having Emby in a vm. Emby can make use of the Intel 530 graphics for transcoding.

How can I allow Emby access to the 'real' on cpu graphics from inside the VM? Just a pointer in the right direction for reading should work.

Pointer: you wanna do "GPU passthrough".

There is a bunch of info on this (pci passthrough) on the wiki and a couple pages back on this forum section there are a bunch of threads about it.

Afaik IGP passthrough (your case) is tricker (have not seen it done on proxmox). Quick google revealed some hits for Arch Linux and ubuntu (did not read em indepth) success stories.
