Hello, Question, we want to replace some new in the cluster, so remove old node, add new node (and this 6 times). Previous experience we have is that sometimes during the process off adding a new noding something goes wrong and all the nodes will reboot(fence) itself. We wan't to prevent this...

    Verification speed

Hello, I have a question, i read from @tuxis they reach around 2GB/s read speed for verify https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/pbs-scaling-out-storage.97785/#post-430819 The also use normal disks with special devices, just like our situation. 12 x 7200 RPM 8 TB disk (RaidZ2) 2 x 960 GB...

We Use RBD directly, i think the best option in most situations.

Proxmox Ceph Converged (HCI) or external ceph

Our production Ceph cluster has on this moment: 3 x Mon/MGR Nodes 6 x SSD OSD Nodes 3 x HDD OSD Nodes Currently we are running 9 Proxmox nodes in a cluster which are connected/using to this Ceph cluster. If you have any questions please let me know, always good to share experience.

Proxmox Ceph Converged (HCI) or external ceph

Hi, We stick to te external Ceph cluster, to not make it more complex then it is. Currently we are looking if we can setup a second cluster as HCI, where we can do a RBD-Mirror for say a disaster recovery. So in worst case we can boot VM's on this DR HCI cluster

    Very large volume (10TB disk)

Hello, We are really happy with PBS! Back-up is much faster and we can hold more retention with the incremental/deduplcation function. We have a dedicated PBS server with 12 x 8TB disk en 2 x Enterprise SSD for special device. We currently have set special_small_blocks to 4K, is this the right...

Hello, we are using PBS for a few weeks now, works very nice! Only out of knowwhere we get errors, see bellow, i cannot find anything in the logs what this caused. error message: INFO: 54% (97.3 GiB of 180.0 GiB) in 15m 24s, read: 97.7 MiB/s, write: 41.9 MiB/s INFO: 54% (97.7 GiB of 180.0...

    PBS Off-site Sync (Cryptolock)

Thanks for the fast response. So if i open only outgoing ports for the PBS on our office location and incoming is nothing possible we are safe. Even if the backups on the PBS in the datacenter are encrypted and this will be synced to our office, then the older back-up versions on this same PBS...

    PBS Off-site Sync (Cryptolock)

Hello, We are really happy with PBS so far, great product! Question: On this moment we are running a PBS in our datacenter which back-ups all the VM's in the cluster. We want to protect us to for example cryptolockers/ransomware that makes not only the data in the VM unusable but in worst...
