I'm just starting to play with PBS now to evaluate a subscription and I would also like to see this on the roadmap. Would like emphasise s3 compatible (so that third party services like backblaze b2 could be used too).
I'm imagining this would work like a local sync (to a 127.0.0.1 'remote')...
If you dump to a NFS storage, will the incoming IP address ti the NAS be from the webui or cluster network IP?
No way to choose what interface / bridge the backup task reaches out on? Goal is to have cluster/webui in separate firewalled subnet with own interface, but allow vzdump to NFS to use...
Looking at migrating to 5.1 from an old 3.4 version.
Reading up on all the new features. One question regarding separate custom networks for storage, migration & cluster.
What network does vzdump operate on? The storage, migration or cluster networks?
I plan to have a bonded 10Gbit OVS...

Sorry I can't be more help. Perhaps it might save you spending more time than necessary.
VMware is what got it working.
We used to run it. I think there's a thread somewhere on here last time someone asked. From memory we were only ever able to get it working in VMware. Never had any luck on KVM. Granted this was a few years ago and we finally left the ancient payroll system that needed it behind.
In the interests of not leaving the thread hanging the problems seem to have been solved. A drive was predicted to fail (had not actually failed yet) but I suspect either it was somehow exposing a RAID firmware bug, or filling up the controllers buffer with IO timeouts, as once the disk was...
The saga continues. Booting from the downloaded 2.3 ISO locks up again. Thinking perhaps it is hardware problem now, but unsure of how to find what it is causing it. Had been running fine for the last year.
My next step to try is installing without using the iDrac remote console, and only...
Second install attempt with 3.1 ISO. It got further this time, past the disk setup and all the way through the install process until the NFS-common package and then appears to hang indefinitely.
Given this is booting off a CD and not the corrupted install on disk and getting similar problems...
Hi, this is a continuation of the issues I've had in the thread "upgrade interrupted, dpkg half-configured server not booting".
My problems have carried over into the reinstallation of proxmox. I'm trying to use the latest 3.1 ISO to reinstall to /dev/sda.
During booting of the installer CD...
Thanks for the suggestion.
My understanding is that apt-get --reinstall will purge and reinstall from scratch the package without requiring dependencies. So I would guess that action may have covered your suggestion (both actions in one command)? It doesn't look like there's an equivalent...
Thanks for the suggestion.
When I do that, for the commands 2) & 3) I only get

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependaency tree
Reading state information... Done

If I boot to the maintenance mode and try starting proxmox manually I get the hang again on dlm_controld, the console displays a kernel message:
At this stage I'm assuming the best thing to do is reinstall. I can't migrate machines as proxmox won't start, but I will copy vzdump files off...
This is the proverbial face-palm moment.
The most recent batch of updates from the pve-enterprise repository to my server were interrupted before completion. The facepalm from myself is that I ended up rebooting anyway.
Proxmox is now hanging during the boot process. It hangs around the...
Hi, I have a subscription and have uploaded that to a proxmox machine I just upgraded from 2.3 to 3.1. However when I try to refresh the updates from the web screen or via apt-get, I receive 401 errors for the enterprise repository:
Err https://enterprise.proxmox.com wheezy/pve-enterprise...
I tried running an ancient sco openserver on proxmox KVM back in the 1.x days but didn't have much luck. Lots of issues just trying to boot. Ended up using VMware for it. Thankfully that zombie payroll system has gone now.
Hi all, I have two proxmox 2.2 servers that each have a local LVM VG storage for KVM images. These are not marked as shared in the storage config. However I can't perform an offline migration, receiving the error:
Apr 05 21:29:26 starting migration of VM 202 to node '<snipped>' (192.168.0.X)...
