Sorry should have been more clear, The gui is saying 8gb is used but I think they system is saying that all 32gb is being used.

So I finally managed to get the backup working, we had to do a bios upgrade. Maybe the current bios had some mem issues.

Im just using the vanilla setup and backing up to /var/lib/vz, which happens to be a 1tb WD black drive. I have also tried backing up to a OCZ Vertex 4 SSD I have in there on /mnt/vm.
