Can anyone tell me how to turn off case sensitivity for logon names when using AD credentials sync'ed from the D.C.
We have a lack of consistancy with usernames coming accross and it causes some confusion for end users.
We've knocked up a few temporary windows desktop VM's for remote access for...
Is there any work being done on cluster replication outside of using ZFS?
I have a mixed environment of hyper-v and Proxmox hosts/clusters that need to replicate to our DR site. The Hyper-v cluster was dead easy to set up for this purpose, Unfortunately our Proxmox hardware is really not suited...
With the upcoming version 4.0 release being based on Debian 8, and Debian 8 coming with Samba 4.1, can/will we be able to join the host machines to AD domains and use group membership to control user access.
It would be nicer to be able to manage users from within AD security groups rather than...
RHEL7 has been released. guess it just a little while until we get an offical 3.10 kernel from the OpenVZ guys and into Proxmox :)
looking forward to this.
Not being someone with experience with web design and the Proxmox API’s, I was wondering how hard it would be to have a user portal on port 443 that just gave an interface to launch spice (or vnc) consoles for the logged on user? Something like this:
User logs in and can start/stop and Launch...
Just out of couriosity as I have used nested esxi vm's for learning purposes before, Can ProxmoxVE be installed onto Debian CT's and make use of the CPU extensions in order to play around with migration, HA etc while learning the software?
Hi Guys
I've been told in the past when configuring HDD's in a LUN for ESXi server to leave 20% free space to accommodate host swap files, etc as best practice. What are the recommendations for Proxmox (KVM) guests when configured on a LUN in shared storage. is this even a concern?
just out of curiosity, I was wondering if any testing was going on in the Proxmox labs re the spice protocol? If there has, any chance of seeing a tech preview version of PVE with it? (just to play with, non supported etc...)
Had been looking forward to it since pre version 2.0 when it was in...
I have a fully up to date 2.1 install that is hanging on backup still. this time with LZOP
It is a standalone machine backing up to an NFS share on a FreeNAS box.
EDIT: I did complete a backup without incident using GZIP

During backups (when the host doesn't hang on me) I get the attached warning messages in the syslog. but the df command runs fine manually on the host via shell access.
Quick test of RC1 using AD log on credentials (new group with administrator rights) all looks good with one exception. I cant open the host shell from the GUI. I get:
Error Can't locate object method "map_method_by_name" via package "realm != pam" (perhaps you forgot to load "realm != pam"?)...
