Mir, thanks for the link. That's exactly what I did, but I still get the same packet drop when testing with omping. BTW, the packet drop is always 56% / 10 min, on this point of view it's very stable.
I have 7 nodes that work wonderfuly from years. And suddently the switch did start dropping the multicast (56% packet loss). No recent change, no heavy load, no explenation.
I've spent hours searching how to configure IGMP on this ProCurve 2920 (fw WB.16.02.0012). Documentation for 2910 is...
On a lot, but not on Procurve 1800 / 1810. Multicast is allowed out of the box, without any option. Although we can configure some limitation (1800: rate limit / 1810: storm control), that I don't recommand anyway, because many other broadcast paquets are also dropped, i.e. Bonjour.
I couldn't...
I did migrate my 2 servers, and had quite a bad surprise. Corosync was failing after less than 5 minutes. After many hours of investigation, I did discover that the Procurve 1800-24G switch was the cause of the problem. A multicast test using asmping did show 25% packet loss in multicast. Those...
Spirit,
I've spent the last hour to try to trigger a BSOD with crystalmark 3.0.1, but no way. It irritating not being able to reproduce what happened many times yesterday morning. Everything is working as if I did never have any problem, whatever the drivers or settings I'm using.
Here are...
Yes, I found it yesterday and did upgrade my test machines. It's seems to be much more stable. I'm still testing some heavy loads, but I didn't have any BSOD with this version yet.
I'm working on more tests with crystalmark to see if I can reproduce your symptom.
Hello Dietmar,
I'm a bit surprised by what I've found on your wiki. You're saying you've got trouble with software raid. Soft raid is a bit more complex to configure than hardware, and I do understand your position about giving some support for it. But I don't agree with the fact that soft raid...
Thanks to all of you sharing your experience. I must specify I've started using Proxmox at the beginning of the 2.x version, last year. Previously, I was using libvirt and virtual-manager, with current kvm packages backported. By the way, thanks to Proxmox guys for your excellent job.
Windows...
I've tried to migrate several Windows production servers in KVM. I've got 2 of them so unstable that I had to put them back on hardware machines.
Windows has already a long list of trouble on any virtualization system (even Hyper-V), this is not new. I'm not expecting KVM of Proxmox to resolve...
You're right, I've done some changes manually. I did not have time to test it seriously yet, but I think that this issue did appear when I've changed something in the /etc/pve/openvz or /etc/pve/qemu-server symlinks, instead of working in /etc/pve/nodes. I still need to spend a couple of hours...
From this week (Dec 24), I've got several machine which got this issue while upgrading:
# /etc/init.d/pve-cluster restart
Syslog:

Using Linux Mint (MGSE 12 or LMDE 2011-12) or Ubtuntu 11.10, I have the same problem when using Chromium. Firefox seems not having the same problem - although Firefox has many other trouble, including crashing 10 times per day because of Java or Flash.
When using the workaround 'Show Controls'...
