Well, you were given multiple ways to do what you asked for - with today's functionality.
If you would prefer to put in a feature request and hope it gets done in the future, that is your choice of course.
Good luck!
Assuming you are using HA on that size cluster, shouldn't HA should just "take care" of this if you put the host into maintenance mode?
From the docs ( https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-ha-manager.html#_maintenance_mode ):
"The target nodes for these migrations are selected from the...
I normally store my VMs on an NFS share on a NAS. Sometimes I need to do maintenance on the NAS (firmware upgrade, or other). When that need arises I move the VM disks to a ceph pool, perform NAS maintenance, then move them all back to the NAS.
Question - is there any advantage to NOT delete...
Sorry, I could have been more clear.
I did a clean install from the iso. Added the node to my existing cluster. Then went to install ceph from the web gui (without changing/adding repositories).
When clicking on the ceph web install wizard, it immediately said the enterprise repository wasn't...
EDIT: Disregard. Works as designed, it was user error.
Clean ISO install.
Couldn't get ceph to install. No matter what repositories I added/removed in the GUI it always tried to install from the enterprise repository.
Finally just did "pveceph install -repository no-subscription" from the...
I'll just say that I like the script very much. Cluster wide updating is something Proxmox VE does not provide at all, and I've never seen in a roadmap.
In various scenarios having something (script or other) to manage security updates en masse is useful. Just an opinion.
Just curious (not complaining or trying to start a heated thread), but what's next for Proxmox?
There is very little left on the roadmap ( https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Roadmap#Roadmap ) in terms of "future" items (although some would argue they are significant items), and it has been a few...
I just do it the traditional way - make individual vlans and bridges for each vlan. I only have a handful of vlans, so it works. My way certainly would not be manageable on large networks with a large number of vlans.
I assume most people use a non-trunked vlan aware bridge though. Especially...
Nevermind... I was able to modprobe -r the old module, re-make it, and then it worked again. Not sure why I had to do that, in the past make + make install + depmod was enough.
But regardless, it is working.
Probably something stupid I am doing wrong, but not sure what.
After upgrading from pm 7.0 to 7.1 my RTL8156 2.5Gb USB nic no longer works.
I did re-compile the 2.15.0 driver after update (since there was a new kernel in 7.1), just like I have every other upgrade. My RTL8152 1GB usb nic is...
