Help - Snapshot restore fails with short vma error

@fabian : Is there a doc/manual that explains how to properly work with backups & snapshots. (as well as how to manage snapshot when moving VMs around). We use snapshot for CI and automated testing. However, not having restorable (*) backups or not being able to move the VMs seems like an issue...

Help - Snapshot restore fails with short vma error

Ok, I can do that. The snapshots are stored on a brand new NAS with raid5 BTRFS. I would not expect file corruption on 4 different snapshots. This mean that my backup are corrupted despite reporting success. I guess this means : - the VM is lost, - I should check all my VM backups? Is...

[SOLVED] Win 2003 blue screen after 6.8.8.2 kernel update ?

No it's acommercial product. It was an option of the acronis backup suite. But it used to be quite cheap for a single license. https://www.acronis.com/en-us/technology/universal-restore/

[SOLVED] Win 2003 blue screen after 6.8.8.2 kernel update ?

Hi, Did you try acronis universal restore (I am not sure it is still called like this today)? It can do magic fixing mismatched drivers at boot time, and let you boot back into the system so that you can install the drivers needed to match the hardware.

Help - Snapshot restore fails with short vma error

Help needed to recover VM def after dead HD on proxmox V8

Ok, I am trying to save me a reinstall of the VM OS and software. I have 3 disks still available which contain the UEFI partition, OS partition and software. The lost partition on the lost disk was just hosting a developement database (and this data can be retrieved from the live db if needed)...

Help needed to recover VM def after dead HD on proxmox V8

Well, I managed to mess up my backup and let backup rotation delete the backup file. I guess my current option short of creating a new vm, and reinstalling everything, is reconfiguring the hardware and reattach the existing drives?

Help needed to recover VM def after dead HD on proxmox V8

Hi, HDD was replace but the VM definition seems to have been wiped in the operation. VM show only the vm number and almost no hardware. The VM was running despite the dead HDD, since it was using other VMDisk where the OS was stored. I can still see my VM storage disks in the console: Is...

Help needed to recover VM def after dead HD on proxmox V8

Not sure, I used the "add lvm" from the proxmox gui to create a lvm on the disk. Nothing else on this partition except for that one VM. Ok I will try that. Thank you. Yes, it is a simple setup.

Help needed to recover VM def after dead HD on proxmox V8

Hi, One of the drive has gone dead. SMART is in failed state, any disk operation fills the logs with errors, and slows everything down. This is not a system disk. The VM using this disk is stopped pending restore. Disk has just 1 LVM 8T partition, and will be replaced with a bigger disk. Is...

panic on boot trying to mount iscsi volume

I agree that declaring the volume in pve and the LVM on top of it works and does not require any fstab entry. However, from what I understood, this only works when using the volume in raw for a single VM (thus using the full volume). I created an ext4 fs and mounted it so I can use qcow images...

panic on boot trying to mount iscsi volume

Hello, I am new to proxmox, so I probably do the things in the wrong order. I have added to proxmox a iscsi volume. Mounted a LVM on it with an ext4 FS, and I can mount it fine. But I tried to insert it in fstab, so that it gets mounted at boot and VM using the FS can be started as well. This...
