Hi!
Since a couple of days my HDD does not spin down anymore.
> lsof |grep datastore
shows, /mnt/datastore/data/.lock is open by proxmox-backup-proxy and seams to prevent spindown.
Did this behaviour change recently ?
Thanks!
I have PBS on an extra machine. ZFS datastore is idle the whole day. It spins up at 0:00 for maintainance:
May 11 00:00:03 pbs systemd[1]: Starting Rotate log files...
May 11 00:00:03 pbs systemd[1]: Starting Daily man-db regeneration...
May 11 00:00:03 pbs rsyslogd[733]: [origin...
I have it running on:
https://www.elefacts.de/test-153-nas_basic_2.1__mini_itx_eigenbau_nas_mit_4x_sata_und_passiver_4_kern_cpu
INFO: backup was done incrementally, reused 141.68 GiB (94%)
INFO: transferred 8.39 GiB in 46 seconds (186.7 MiB/s)
with spin down just 10W idle power consumption.
If i understand it right, I have to use the hook at the PVE but this hook has to spin up disk at PBS.
The disks are starting at 0:00 due to some housekeeping jobs of PBS, as a simple solution I'll try to move backup jobs to 0:10
I trying to spin down my hdd because they are idle 99,9% of the day.
If a backup job starts, the spin up takes to long and backup is failing consistently:

I build basically:

and use it as PBS for office. The hardware is enough:
