    Unofficial Proxmox Discord server

Please excuse my massive ignorance: why would one go and use some random Discord server when there is this open forum? (No, I won't go and test it...)

How to properly map users and groups across Proxmox LXC and Docker VM for shared media folders?

This! When you have more than a single digit devices you want to have some single source of truth, resulting in johndoe being the same johndoe on all systems. There is a multitude of solutions for this. Each and every one needs some attention, experience and maintenance. My personal choice is...

    [SOLVED] NFS network configuration

There is no dedicated "master" as all nodes are equal. (When you look under "Datacenter --> HA Status" you can notice that the shown "master" node will vary, depending on the current availability.) Shared storage must be reachable/usable on each and every node¹. Every node uses its own IP...

Cluster with different number of links

Just use a simple USB-NIC for that second ring. This (personal view: USB-devices in general) is usually not recommended, but a second ring using sub-optimal devices is probably better than none. Of course both connections should (hopefully) be stable under all circumstances; to check the...

SSD wear with ZFS compared to BTRFS

I won't fight this. This discussion is interesting, though I did not verify their statements: https://github.com/kdave/btrfs-progs/issues/760

[SOLVED] PBS upgrade format is nice and clean

PBS 4 is on Trixie / Debian 13 PVE 8.4 is Bookworm / Debian 12 So... just upgrade and you get the new apt output "for free" ;-)

    [SOLVED] NFS network configuration

Of cause there are multiple ways to set this up and there are definitely more details than would fit into one post. One possible quick-n-dirty approach: take a new unused switch (or use VLANs) connect one NIC on each PVE node here connect the NFS server here configure a new bridge with that new...

All Network inquiries are filtered from my Provider

Thank you for the good reply. Unfortunately I can see anything wrong here, sorry. Can you compare the output of a "traceroute 8.8.8.8" from a machine that works with this pve? Did you enable (and limit) the PVE internal firewall? (I have never used that, but it exists.)

All Network inquiries are filtered from my Provider

    "ping www.proxmox.com" is not a good choice for a test. It does not answer to my pings too: ~$ ping -c1 -W 2 www.proxmox.com PING www.proxmox.com (212.224.123.69) 56(84) bytes of data. --- www.proxmox.com ping statistics --- 1 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 0ms I...

Problem with accessing to Proxmox VE GUI after trying to upgrade from version 8.14.0 to 9.0

    ??? 9.0 is from October and 9.1 is from November - https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/proxmox-virtual-environment-9-1-available.176254/

    storage status unknown in cluster

There's your misunderstanding: not "storage.cfg" tells you that it is there. You told the storage system that it does exist. So... I would trust this one ;-) Post the full output of zpool status from each node and the output of cat /etc/pve/storage.cfg once. Then we will see... :-) (( Please...

Tips on core assignment to VMs

Correct. Both are running in the time sliced fashion and a normal user will be able to use both. But technically in a specific microsecond only one can be running.

Tips on core assignment to VMs

I have no idea. Personally I would make sure that two to four cores are available even when the largest VM is running. My (possibly wrong, I am no guru) understanding is: you have three VMs with 14 cores. Now if all three have "something" to do only two of them can run at the very same time...

Difference between Ceph already integrated into Proxmox and installing Ceph externally

For me there was one additional reason to try pve-ceph: it is extremely easy to setup because everything is integrated in the WebGUI we are already firm with.

[SOLVED] VMs shutting down on remaining host when powering off second node in 2-node Proxmox cluster

Interesting! Unfortunately I have no idea what happens. Did you install some magic scripts with hidden automatisms? Take a look into the journal. After the fact by simple using journalctl or live on the still-turned-on node in a terminal, running journalctl -f
