I'm seeing no smart error on the disks. There appears to be a pattern between a minecraft server running & the server crashing. I've had servers running before with no issues. I'm seeing a pattern here. This is the CT with the minecraft server.

Switching the kernel didn't change. This time, though, no trace of the stacktrace. But I've instead found this : Could this be related to a failing disk?

Hi all. The affected node has been updated and restarted on our end. IO issues are gone, and installing ubuntu in a vm no longer results in long waiting times. Cheers

Done. For now I'll see if I get the same issues as before, as its difficult to replicate (though anything maxing out I/O seems to work well)

We also run ancient AMD CPUs, so there could be a hardware issue. I've never seen the issue on my home lab, which has better CPUs.

I agree. I've tested with extreme synthetic load and the backup starts fine. This was a hypothesis because the load on our server was always a bit high.
