    Bandwidth control for each VM

I think I have found a solution... For me, I needed to limit the output of a container to the net, so on the HN I did this: #!/bin/bash DEV=eth0 tc qdisc del dev $DEV root tc qdisc add dev $DEV root handle 1: cbq avpkt 1000 bandwidth 1000mbit tc class add dev $DEV parent 1: classid 1:1 cbq...

Server down. Last screen shot. Please advise.

No, actually the OP said they were using RAID0 (Striping) with TWO drives... You can't do RAID-10 with only two drives, you need at least 4... :)

Only having 16GB of RAM (normally 24GB)

Lot's of server motherboards have 6 banks for RAM (all of mine do - SuperMicro Motherboards), I have 6 x 4GB installed in mine... I'd be willing to bet the OP does as well. But for the record, I see all 24GB of my RAM with kernel Linux svr01 2.6.32-11-pve #1 SMP Wed Apr 11 07:17:05 CEST 2012...

    Bandwidth control for each VM

I too am running into the same problem trying to limit bandwidth from within a container.. I'm assuming it's not possible, but are there any other suggestions other than at the router? I'd like to limit container bandwidth either from within the container, or from the proxmox host.

    Problem with vzdump's

I was wondering if there was some way to set different parameters for different nodes in the cluster? For example, it appears to me that it assumes all nodes are created equal. I have some that have 2TB drives for backup purposes, and some that only have 200MB for backup purposes... On the...

    Windows 2008 in PVE 2.0

I second this, CloneZilla Live worked awesome and I set it to only copy the used filespace and created qcow2 disk on server so it expands as needed. As for the drivers, virtio for hard drives for sure, although I've read in several places to stick with the latest intel network drivers for...

Problems with EXT4 and ProxMox 2.0?

As I mentioned, this is my SSD drive and ext3 doesn't support TRIM so that really isn't an option unfortunately...

[PVE2R] CD-ROM ISO can *NOT* have spaces in the filename...

I was running into a problem earlier, and I'm not sure if it is a bug or not (depends on how it was intended), but when trying to mount an ISO image with spaces in the filename for creating a KVM machine everything proceeded as normal, however the CD-ROM drive was never created. I went back and...

Problems with EXT4 and ProxMox 2.0?

I just noticed I'm getting thousands of these messages in my logs everyday... VZDQ: Tried to clean orphans on qmblk with 1 state BUG: Quota files for 208243 are broken: no quota engine running EXT4-fs (dm-4): ext4_orphan_cleanup: deleting unreferenced inode 26878991 VZDQ: Tried to clean orphans...

    Problem creating a windows KVM

    For what it's worth, the 2.0 machine that works has this pveversion -v... pve-manager: 2.0-59 (pve-manager/2.0/18400f07) running kernel: 2.6.32-11-pve proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 2.0-66 pve-kernel-2.6.32-11-pve: 2.6.32-66 pve-kernel-2.6.32-6-pve: 2.6.32-55 lvm2: 2.02.88-2pve2 clvm: 2.02.88-2pve2...

    glusterfs and high availability.

Did you use Gluster with AT LEAST 3 nodes? You need to think of gluster as a network raid-5/6 type device, it needs to be able to obtain a sane quorum in order to avoid split-brain (just like ProxMox does). It should work fine when configured for 3+ nodes, as long as it was done properly...

High risk of dataloss through human oversight

While I agree with the ProxMox team in their decision to only confirm once, and I think the confirmations are enough, I would have to say I think this change would be a welcome one...

    Problem creating a windows KVM

This is really wierd, I'm having an issue creating a windows machine. I have a bunch of old ProxMox servers (1.8) running, and a few of the newer machines running (2.0). I created a windows machine on the 1.8 server, it worked fine. Migrated it to one of our production (2.0) machines and it...

[PVE2-BUG] I think this would constitute a bug?

When checking the status of one of my machines, I see this: Which looks fine, except when I check the summary of the machine that's running on, I see this: If the container is using 5GB of RAM, how can there only be 2GB of RAM used on the whole server (which has another 8 containers or so...

    Deploying a QCOW2 image on V.2

Some possible issues with ProxMox 2.0 release

I've noticed a couple things that I wanted to run by you before posting them as bug reports, perhaps I am doing something wrong. 1. While running a windows KVM with a single CPU allocated, I've sometimes seen the CPU usage go as high as 187% 2. When sorting servers based on disk usage or...

Using SSD's with ProxMox 2.0 -- How To?!?

    Just found out something else interesting, perhaps it's a linux thing and I just never noticed before, or maybe it's something to do with EXT4, but # cd /var/lib/vz # du -h 4.0K ./images 4.0K ./private 4.0K ./root 4.0K ./dump 4.0K ./template/cache 4.0K ./template/iso 4.0K...

    Two-Node HA w/ DRBD cluster.conf error.

I'm not sure whether what you has will work from an HA point-of-view, I haven't messed with that under ProxMox yet, however you have some fundamental XML errors... Try changing the two <cman> lines above to just ONE cman line as follows... <cman...
