[SOLVED] Proxmox ZFS storage available not matching

RAID5/RAIDz1 is not recommended due to the possibility of URE on a 2nd disk after initial first disk failure. If it is a production system run 3-way mirrors for safety or raidz2 at least.

Installation help? ZFS root and recent GPU

install proxmox then install your GUI. It is not what proxmox is made for. It is a hypervisor. X would not start as it was not installed from your USB Proxmox ISO. Ask yourself this question, why would you want to use a hypervisor distro as desktop os?

    Systemd boot editing boot options

With grub you can press "e" to edit a few boot options. How would one go about doing that with systemd if you run ZFS as boot? I flashed my BIOS and now I cannot contact the machine due to pci-id's changing i suspect.. So I had to reflash to older version, boot the system and disable all sorts...

    Start "Disk" view unexpanded.

In times of old I seem to remember that the DISK overview started Unexpanded. Now it starts expanded which makes it more difficult to get an overview. Is there a way to edit some config file somewhere so that all disks are unexpanded when I open the tab? So that the overview looks like anything...

    cannot edit or list /etc/pve/qemu-server

I cant access those files either anymore and it is tremendously anoying. They are also write protected when booting normally. this in effect causes a situation where a vm boots at startup and crashes the system... Attemting to boot into safe mode just gives me an empty directory. It did not...

Deleting VM's / Disks is not entirely sane.

Sure it might not be "clean" but it is definitely illogical that PM would wait for half a day to delete the file because it was locked. I wonder if cutting the power would have prevented the deletion or if the command would be lurking in the deep...

Deleting VM's / Disks is not entirely sane.

Today I decided to remove a disk from a vm to attach it to another vm. The disk file was created with vm (333) and I attached it it to vm (109) without moving the files from the 333 directory to109 directory. I simply cut the text string from 333.conf and aded it as a new disk to 109.conf and...

The absurdity of migrating a VM vs. restoring a VM from backup

I have a few nodes. I have a Domain controller on one node using 15GB storage space in a 220G RAW file where more than 90% is empty. I attempt to migrate this to a different node... 3 hours later, still not done. I stop the process as my patience ran out. I decide to Migrate it the fast way...

    [GUIDE] Proxmox with ZFS2

I just retried my method and I do not get hanging I just tried my guide to verify your findings on a different system, following it to the letter. After a reboot I did not encounter a hang. I did not have to copy stuff to /zfs20 it just worked :) Not sure what was different about your system

    [GUIDE] Proxmox with ZFS2

I've run ZFS2 since RC2 with no negative behaviour except hangs when removing cache or log devices if the pool is in use. Workaround: Prevent whatever using the pool. Do a reboot remove the devices when pool is not being accessed by "whatever"
