[SOLVED] The installer could not find a supported hard disk (Dell R620 / H730 PERC Mini)

We are planning a multi node CEPH cluster (storage pool with many SAS drives) so didn't think the HW RAID would be neccesary? (or might even be a bad idea-from what I've read) What storage options are you using in Proxmox?

Proxmox cluster: how to configure network for VMs

I am new to Proxmox and wondering how best to configure a network on a cluster so that the VMs are acccessed via the physcal (host) node IP addresses. i.e. I don't want to take up lots of IP addresses on my network so ideally there will be a bunch of VMs on a private network and they can only be...

Internet connection through a proxy / manual Ceph install possible?

Just to finish this thread off. Above I was testing Proxmox Clustering using nested virtualization within Hyper-V. I installed Proxmox directly on a Dell R620 server node and followed above steps again (no issues) i.e.: 1. I accessed the web interface and set the proxy via "Datacenter" >...

[SOLVED] The installer could not find a supported hard disk (Dell R620 / H730 PERC Mini)

No but first I had a look at the H730 perc mini raid controller settings and changed the controller from RAID to HBA mode, rebooted the server and my SATA and 2 SAS disks were detected by the Proxmox installer! I then successfully installed Proxmox onto the SATA drive. Thanks.

[SOLVED] The installer could not find a supported hard disk (Dell R620 / H730 PERC Mini)

I have tested out Proxmox (most recent release) using nested virtualization and now want to test it on a physical node: a Dell R630 server which has a SATA and 2 SAS drives installed. I create a bootable iso on a USB drive (DD mode) and booted to this and then selected the option to install but...

Internet connection through a proxy / manual Ceph install possible?

Thanks for the info. I reinstalled my 3 proxmox nodes (X.X.X.120,X.X.X.121,X.X.X,122 / with FQDNs etc.) and before creating any cluster tried to set the proxy and install ceph on each node. On the first node (X.X.X.120) this worked without issue: 1. I accessed the web interface and set the...
