    Proxmox 6.2 with older VMs

I am having problems with ZFS, all sorts of things are going wrong, mysql failing with too may open files etc. I have had to migrate this vm to a box I just rented and installed 5.4 on. This looks bad though as 5.4 is going EOL.

    Proxmox 6.2 with older VMs

Is anyone experiencing problems with older VMs? I've only just installed 6.2 and started migrating VMs but I'm getting a Debian Jessie constantly crashing with a kernel panic relating to some scsci thing or other and I now have an Ubuntu 8.04 VM that almost immediately after bootup loses...

Hyper-Converged Ceph 3 node Cluster direct attach - Proxmox VE

I have a set up similar to this for about three years now without problem. I barely remember setting it up but I know the corosync was redundant in that we have a 1GB connection through a regular switch and then a couple of Intel X520-DA2 in each node directly attached.

3 Node Proxmox 10GB interfaces without 10GB switch

Twinax I think one of the connections is GBIC+FC but not on the Ceph. I didn't actually realize this made a difference. I would have only done that because I was short of a twinax DAC cable but I can very easily rectify it if needed. I can swap them all out to whatever is best. I hope its...

3 Node Proxmox 10GB interfaces without 10GB switch

Thanks, I should be good with the replacement card as they are the onboard integrated things so hopefully all the identifiers will be the same. Even the extra nics will probably be the same as they'll be going in the same slot on each server. With regards to the statement: This doesn't...

3 Node Proxmox 10GB interfaces without 10GB switch

I have a three node cluster with three dual 10GB in each plus 4 x 1GB ethernet. There is no 10GB switch. We just use DAC cables. Each node has 2 x 10GB connected to the other two for ceph. Each node has 2 x 10GB connected to the other two for cluster replication. Each node has 1 x 10GB...

    Problem with CEPH after upgrade

The calculator still tells me that for two pools I should have 512pg for each pool when I have 12 OSD which is exactly what I have.

    Problem with CEPH after upgrade

I have just upgraded my three node cluster and now ceph is reporting a health warning. I did the upgrade by moving all vms of each machine, doing an apt-get dist-upgrade and then rebooting. After each came back up, ceph showed degraded and eventually went back to clean. I now have a health...

Receiving Traffic Destined For Other VMs

Manu, thanks for the reply, I'm actually thinking the problem is now a datacenter one as further investigation showed that the packets I was receiving were not even for the same host.

Receiving Traffic Destined For Other VMs

I have just been doing some debugging with ngrep inside a VM and suddenly received traffic destined for a number of other VMs. This is Proxmox 5, should I be worried? I've certainly never seen this before but I haven't been using Proxmox for more than a few months.

    New(bie) storage configuration (RaidZ1 with 3HDDs + SSD)

Unless your dev machines are all going to be very demanding, if you are going down the all SSD route probably better with either a single RAIDZ2 or a couple of RAIDZ. If you can a small faster slog device like S3700 or maybe Samsung SM863a.

    [SOLVED] Disable ZFS compression

I don't use ZFS in Proxmox but if its defaulting to LZ4, I'm reading everywhere that overhead is very low and every recommendation is to leave it on.

proxmox 5 clustering- what bandwith is required?

I've never tested latency in the same datacenter, it would have been very low. Between Strasbourg and Roubaix was about 10ms if I remember correctly.
