    Proxmox / KVM questions

Ah, I see yes. This does work well. I'll just wait for the future versions before I over commit RAM. Thank you!

Paravirtualized driver for Windows: block and NIC

I was able to convert an existing Windoes 2003 server installation to use these drivers using the procedure Tom described. But I can't figure out how to use them during the initial installation.

Paravirtualized driver for Windows: block and NIC

Im confused by this. I uploaded the virto ISO using the proxmox web control panel. If I go to create a new windows 2003 VM, I set the nic and hard drive to virto as it says, but I need to point the CD ROM drive to the windows2003 ISO, so that I can boot and install. If I point the CD ROM...

    Proxmox / KVM questions

Hi All... I am wondering, with Proxmox and KVM, is it possible to overcommit the RAM in the physical machine? For example, if I have a physical machine with 4 GB RAM can I create 8 VMs each with 1GB RAM? VM Ware allows this, Citrix Xen Source does not. Also, is it possible to use KVM with...

Disk space 0 used after OpenVZ migration

Ah, okay, thank you very much. I stopped the VPS, copied the data to the proper location (preserving permissions) and changed the conf file to comment out those lines and added these: VE_ROOT="/var/lib/vz/root/$VEID" VE_PRIVATE="/var/lib/vz/private/$VEID" I restarted, but the problem...

Disk space 0 used after OpenVZ migration

I really should not do too man things at 3:30AM :( Here is the proper dump you requested: proxmox01:~# cat /etc/vz/conf/101.conf # Copyright (C) 2000-2007 SWsoft. All rights reserved. # # This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify # it under the terms of the GNU...

Disk space 0 used after OpenVZ migration

I did create a VPS from a template and it shows disk space usage correctly. This is a new installation from yesterday, so there have been no changes. Thank you!

Disk space 0 used after OpenVZ migration

Yes, Proxmox is installed from the ISO, but I have not applied any patches. I'll look up how to do that. Here is your output, which I assume indicates a problem: proxmox01:~# cat /etc/vz/conf/VMID.conf cat: /etc/vz/conf/VMID.conf: No such file or directory proxmox01:~# locate VMID.conf...

Disk space 0 used after OpenVZ migration

Thanks, but that didn't help. The current disk space is still 0.00 int eh "virtual machine configuration" page. On the VPS list, with the three bar graphs, it is also still 0.

Disk space 0 used after OpenVZ migration

Hi All... I just migrated two VPSs from an OpenVZ box to ProxMox. It seemed to go very well. I stopped the VPS on the old server, used vzmigrate, changed the ORIGIN_SAMPLE line in the conf file and all seemed well. I did notice however that the Proxmox UI thinks that the VPSs are using 0 disk...

    OpenVZ to Proxmox.

So my conf is not migrated (if using vzmigrate) or restored (if using vzdump)? Yeah, I can see I was not making too much sense there ;) What I was thinking about is that in OpenVZ, I'll often run out of one resource that is related to another. For example, if I allocate 50GB disk space, I'll...

    OpenVZ to Proxmox.

Hi Dietmar... I'm sorry to ask, but I'm not very good at reading source code. I don't understand this statement: Does this mean that the reasonable defaults are calculated when a VPS is migrated in? What happens is a VPS, either one originally created on Proxmox or migrated in from OpenVZ...
