Do not use ZFS on proxmox Hypervisor... Use Thin LUN and give block device to your guest withouth any cache after that if you want compressind or dedup use on your guest.... If you need RAID system on Hypervisor then make that raid with LVM...

I suggest to you do not use ZFS on hyperconverged solution.... First problem is your point is correct on Promox system if you do not use virtual disk cache then ZFS useless, if you will use that then host linux, guest operation system and ZFS arc use cache also will be use buffer when your disk...
So proxmox interface IP was response you am I right... but you can not ping next one ? could you sen to your network configuration page picture to here...
you can create second thin LVM on that VG and mount folder this is useful for your..
lvcreate -l 50%FREE -T -n BACKUP VGNAME ( this will be create one thin LVM on that VG and that LV will be possibly use %50 percent disk area )
you will mount that backup LVM via fstap to your server after that...
On your backup storage which one selected by you activate vzDump. So when you want get backup proxmox will record that Guest Backup to that storage.. All backup file will be in /mnt/pve/storagename/dump ( if you will add as a directory ), you can transfer where you want..

proxmox host IP ( if you get response your Proxmox config should be correct )
network GW IP ( if you get response your network not have problem, promlem not only problem security issue also problem :) )
google DNS IP ( if you get response your router allow LXC container...
