    GPU passthrough

An update; Installing a UEFI windows with GTX 1050 Ti + UEFI BIOS actually works very ok without the nVidia patcher. Well, until it stops all togehter, but I suspect its my new kernel or the OS loads the GFX card to early..

Proxmox server migration (from HDD to SSD)

Hi, In this case, I'd dd the whole HDD to the SSD if they are of the same size (or if the SSD is bigger). Else I'd partition the new drive, and copy contents from the HDD onto the SSD. Dont know if it works for /dev and all that.... If that wouldnt work, maybe install proxmox on the ssd on...

Proxmox Restarts after couple of hours.

Hi, Thanks for this, however my proxmox cluster is at home and all I was really asking for was a "minidump" of sorts. If memory serves right this should be in standard debian edition but not in proxmox. Might be wrong tho! :) Multsam, A

Booting from USB stick works but not ext. SSD!

An update: Renaming with vgsrename did nothing... still having to have the old HDD attached as an external USB drive as well as the SSD with the new OS installed, else it wont boot on the SSD..

Proxmox Restarts after couple of hours.

After last upgrade this behaviour actually stopped, that and moving around my 10gb NICs in all 3 nodes, but I found NO logs at all. Is there any kernel debugger that could capture any bluescreens for future crashes ?

Booting from USB stick works but not ext. SSD!

Hi, Have been fighting with this for 2 days now. In order to get more free space for more hdds inside the whitebox cluster I have, I bought external disk caddies that I thought I'd boot from. Booting from the Proxmox USB stick and installing it on the external USB drive, with the old drive...

Hardware Issue Proxmox with HP Z420

I am running 3x Z400 and BIOS updates are a must. Will check the drivers now that you mentioned it tho! :D PS. Just checked, BIOS update is fine to download to an usb key and update. Drivers for linux I wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole! :) DS.

    Migrate to SSD

Hi, I am tired of the IO wait when i hit swap of my memory starved servers start chewing so I have ordered SSD to server as boot drives. Question is, can I go ahead and do a fresh install of proxmox on the SSD and later copy everything on the HDD ? This is to avoid rebuilding ceph osd's I was...

    Sudden PowerOutage fail proof?

shutdown -h now actually moves things around in the cluster for me so I'd def say its the nice way of shutting down. shutdown -f<orce> is however a very non-nice way! :D

    Transfer speed - migration speed

Easiest thing for you is to buy 2x Mellanox 10gb (or other NICs I guess) cards at €50/each and hook them together. Then use that network connection as your migration network like so: vi /etc/pve/datacenter.cfg # use dedicated migration network migration: insecure,network=172.16.1.0/24 Src...

My home server reboots itself between 8-9am every Monday

Hi, I have had this exact same issue since the latest maybe 3 kernels on all pve nodes! Thing that did it for me was to update to the absolute latest kernel 4.15.18-7. If you need to experiment with booting old kernels in PVE do this: vi /etc/default/grub Change GRUB_DEFAULT=0 to...

    Ceph pool full?

Hi, I usually get this when one osd is down or full. Or the cache is.. check with "ceph osd tree" and maybe a "ceph osd reweight-by-utilization"

I use ceph+Win10+ 750 ti and stream just fine with Parsec gaming by pointing it to the correct IP.
