PVE not assigning VM vlans, please help

Just assign ip address that you will use to access PVE to vmbr0. Then add network interface to your VM and specify VLAN tag. In VM, you will get one untagged network interface per VLAN.

    VM Firewall not working

Try to use IPset, it very useful feature: Datacenter -> Firewall -> IPSet Then create firewall rule and choose IPSet you created in "Source" or "Destination" field, depend on your needs. But you have to enter each ip/cdir manually. Also, you may have individual IPSets for every VM (<VM> ->...

Proxmox 5.2 Windows console login issue

Sometimes I facing similar issue. I choose console window by clicking it top bar and start to enter characters but see no input. Clicking on window top is not enough and I have to click inside of window -- and viola, I can enter. What browser do you use?

    VMs cannot access internet

IMHO, you should try to add interface option to iptables rules '-i vmbr0' or something to specify interface to make redirect from. Without that option, packet filter will redirect any traffic matched with '--dport 443' and '--dport 80', even from your VMs (agree with Stoiko Ivanov).

Proxmox 5.2 Windows console login issue

Spell / keyboard layout correctros, like Punto Switcher. If you have single keyboard layout, I don't think you use one of these.

3rd cluster node and backup storage configuration

So, I answer myself. I've installed Proxmox, added it to a cluster and set up XigmaNAS (former FreeNAS) in VM vith 6 SAS disks in passthrough mode, ZFS filesystem (now playing with compression). Backup speeds up from 20 MB/s to 70-80 MB/s on a gigabit network, backup time 4 times lower. Great...

3rd cluster node and backup storage configuration

Hello everyone! I have two-node cluster and old QNAP NAS storage, which is quite slow. Recently I've bought additional server for NAS storage. So I have a question, what is better: 1. Install Proxmox on additional server, add it as 3rd node to cluster and run NAS (like NAS4Free or any Linux...

    Time drift during backup

I think FreeNAS or OpenMediaVault will be fine.

    Time drift during backup

Yes, of course. I'm not expect 100/200 MB/s speed from this NAS. But IO delay reduce is very interesting. At least, I need new NAS, maybe built from scratch, not branded one.

    Time drift during backup

QNAP TS-412, quite old model. Has 4 bays, filled with 2 TB WD disks, 2 x 1 Gbit/s network interfaces, ARM CPU. Now it's running RAID10 array.

    Time drift during backup

One more thing I want to share with you, guys. Let's see at some pictures: This is Monthly Average graphs from two Proxmox 4.4 nodes. IO delay peaks are backup events to NAS storage QNAP TS-412. And, as you can see, theese peaks goes up to 2017-06-15. What's happends on that day, you ask...

    Time drift during backup

Maybe vzdump bandwidth limiting and ionice tuning will help with time drifting? In file /etc/vzdump.conf: #bwlimit: KBPS #ionice: PRI And one more thing -- it seems that only Windows VMs are really affected, not Linux.
