In your situation I would:
1. Remove custom corosync config
2. Remove SSH keys (Proxmox VE will transfer them for you when cluster is created)
3. When all nodes are "clean" again, on one node (let's say NODE1) run:
# pvecm create CLUSTERNAME
4. On the other node (let's say NODE2):
# pvecm...
