Deleting multiple backup image from WebUI?

Hi, Just realized there is no way to remove multiple backup images from the WebUI directly, though I believe it is doable from the CLI. Could this be implemented (multiple selection of backup images for deletion)?

OTP fails, though time were exact on phone and pve host

    The command generated the below: root@pve:~# pveversion -v proxmox-ve: 6.1-2 (running kernel: 5.3.10-1-pve) pve-manager: 6.1-3 (running version: 6.1-3/37248ce6) pve-kernel-5.3: 6.0-12 pve-kernel-helper: 6.0-12 pve-kernel-5.0: 6.0-11 pve-kernel-5.3.10-1-pve: 5.3.10-1 pve-kernel-5.0.21-5-pve...

OTP fails, though time were exact on phone and pve host

Hi, So this happens a second time. The first time it happened was a few months ago where I took the chance to reinstall PVE, so I never found out why. This time, again, after stopping the host for some hardware swap and maintenance, the OTP login fails. The host is now connected to the internet...

Problem running VirtualBox inside a container

As for gaming, yes I am aware of the performance likely will be poor. Referencing the description "gaming" I only meant the effort to set it up, which I believe (naively, never tried) the ADK is more difficult to setup comparing to readily available solutions like Genymotion. But I guess it...

Problem running VirtualBox inside a container

That's a good suggestion, I haven't really tried that as I thought that maybe difficult as a starter (made for developers but not gamers).

Problem running VirtualBox inside a container

Actually I have tried them all, in a Windows guest and ubuntu guest. I configured the VM to have nested virtualization, and VT-x was detected by VB in the guests. However, as you said, they didn't work (not booting after all) in either, that's why I tried to use container hoping to reduce the...

Problem running VirtualBox inside a container

I think I am getting closer to the actual reason, it might not have much to do with the above original guess. First, I found that I need to install VirtualBox-6 which then supports the Linux kernel 5, the VB5.0 came with ubuntu might not be able to support it. Second, after installing VB6, I...

Problem running VirtualBox inside a container

Hi, I created a container using the ubuntu 18.04.1 template from Proxmox. Then I try to install virtualbox but then the service started with an error: Nov 11 00:04:04 ubuntu-farm systemd[1]: virtualbox.service: Failed to reset devices.list: Operation not permitted -- Subject: Unit...

    Problem disabling PVE 6's 2fa

Thanks for the idea, the problem was solved by reinstalling the system eventually. But you are right, I haven't paid attention to see if there was a mismatch in the date and time so it could well be the cause.

RAM usage well exceeds VM assignment

Thanks for the explanation. It would be great if we can find out the RAM used or even control how much cache is allocated, as with the current behaviour I could run into issue with assigning RAM to the VMs while I thought I had sufficient. Is there a way to design the size of the cache?

RAM usage well exceeds VM assignment

Thanks for the ideas, that explained a lot regarding the multiple threads. I believe the ZFS might be eating up quite a bit of RAM, but then I was expecting to see them in htop which didn't seem to be the case here.

RAM usage well exceeds VM assignment

Hi, Lately I realized that the RAM usage on PVE exceed the amount I allocated for the VMs. For example, now I am running a single VM and 4 GB RAM has been allocated to it, but the summary of the host says 15GB+ RAM has been used. I am running PVE 6 with 32 GB RAM and a ZFS storage pool (1.8 TB...

Much higher CPU utilization when NIC is virtualized comparing to pass-through

Thanks for the ideas. I was also reading up on what the CPU type does so I switched from KVM (which afaik is emulating Pentinum 4 and lacks a lot of flags) to host for all my VMs, including the router at the moment. Checking the cpuinfo, it throws: flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae...

Unable to pass two VF of Intel X550-T2 as PCIe to two VMs

I have set up SR-IOV with my platform running PVE 6, with AMD Athlon 200GE, Asrock X470ITX and an Intel X550-T2. The guests here are two ubuntu server. Other combination of VMs were tested and produced the same result. Q35 and OVMF are being used. While SR-IOV works, if I assign 1 VF each to 2...

[TUTORIAL] Enabling SR-IOV for Intel NIC (X550-T2) on Proxmox 6

[Tutorial] Enabling SR-IOV for Intel NIC (X550-T2) on Proxmox 6 As I have struggled through setting up (and succeed, yay!) SR-IOV with an Intel NIC, I decide to do a little write up for myself and as a sharing. I am not an expert in Linux/KVM/Networking, so my implementation might not be the...

[SOLVED] Intel X550-T2 SR-IOV failed to enable

Solved: It was caused by a missed BIOS setting regarding ACS under AMD CPU setting. See this tutorial for how I enabled it if you would like to know more: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/enabling-sr-iov-for-intel-nic-x550-t2-on-proxmox-6.56677/

Much higher CPU utilization when NIC is virtualized comparing to pass-through

Lately I am trying to optimize the OpenVPN transfer performance of my VM router inside PVE. I have a 2-port NIC (Intel X550-T2, but the infrastructures are 1 Gbps) and they act as the WAN (port1) and LAN (port2) for my router VM (running ClearOS, a CentOS variant). I tried two configurations...

    Problem disabling PVE 6's 2fa

Hi, I have enabled 2fa for a few days and it has been working fine. Then, I need to remove the PVE system from the internet and fix something by connecting that to a monitor. After a while, not sure if it is because of the change in BIOS setting or the clock is not synchronized, the same code...
