    [SOLVED] Separate Cluster Network question?

Hi, this doesn't look like a separate network. We regard a separate cluster network as one which sits on its own set of physical network interfaces, so that only corosync communication packets are passing through it. In your case, if the three VMs have the IP address 21.x.x.x (e.g. on vmbr0)...

vmbr0 state UNKNOWN after restarting network

Note that with a fresh installation, it's recommended to go for Proxmox VE version 7, as Proxmox VE version 6.x will reach "End Of Life" status in July of this year [1]. Would you mind posting your network configuration? cat /etc/network/interfaces Was this carried out after making changes to...

[SOLVED] Issues logging on Web UI

These logs look like a separate issue. Could you check if the file '/etc/aliases exists and contains content? If so, you can rebuild the database (/etc/aliases.db) with the command: newaliases Does login via SSH generally work? If the GUI reports any particular error message, would you mind...

[SOLVED] How to setup NAT with one of my 4 public IP's?

Hi, you should have a look at section "3.3.6. Masquerading (NAT) with iptables" of the Proxmox VE administration guide, which discusses this kind of NAT setup. Basically, your vmbr1 config would look something like: auto vmbr1 iface vmbr1 inet static address 10.0.0.1/16...

    [SOLVED] Proxmox zfs kernel downgrade

Are you sure that you're using grub as a bootloader? With ZFS on root, there's a good chance that you use systemd-boot [1]. Could you post the output of: proxmox-boot-tool status? You should be able to use proxmox-boot-tool to pin a kernel (see proxmox-boot-tool help): # proxmox-boot-tool kernel...

    Error updating PVE 7.1-10

It could still be a DNS configuration issue. Are you able to ping "proxmox.com"? Could you post the output of: cat /etc/resolv.conf?

Installed kali, pfsense, and now I cannot install any other Vm......

Hi, Does this happen for every VM? Could you post the config of on of the VMs (qm config <VMID>)? Is there an entry in the task log for the failure. If so, please post the task log also. Finally, could you use the following command to print incoming system logs in real-time, then attempt to...

    Proxmox Network Interfaces disappeared

I'm not sure where the 'hash_elasticity' option is coming from, but that message is only informative. Do you see any interfaces in the GUI yet? If not, could you post the output of ip a?

    Proxmox Network Interfaces disappeared

Which version of Proxmox VE are you currently using? If you have Proxmox VE 7.x, could you try running the command ifreload -a to see if the interfaces file gets loaded? If it's version 6.x or below, you may need to reboot (or install the ifupdown2 package and run the above command).

Lvm enabled but VM reports error

Oh the guide sets up Plex in a virtual machine inside Ubuntu, so you need to set up nested virtualisation on your Proxmox VE host(s). We have a guide for this here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Nested_Virtualization

Lvm enabled but VM reports error

Is Proxmox VE nested within another hypervisor or running on bare metal? Does the message to enable KVM occur on the host (Proxmox VE) or within the Ubuntu virtual machine? Could you post the output of: pveversion -v lsmod | grep kvm journalctl -b | grep kvm

    Proxmox Network Interfaces disappeared

This panel takes configuration data from the file '/etc/network/interfaces'. If this file exists at the moment, would you mind posting it? It's possible that network manager edited the file automatically, or moved the network configuration somewhere else, e.g. /etc/network/interfaces.d. For...

    [SOLVED] Cannot access WEB GUI

Okay, if it was an update from the GUI, it was likely a minor update anyway. Ah, this explains it ;) The directory /var/log/pveproxy and its contents should be owned by 'www-data'. Can you run the following command to see if it fixes the issue? chown -R www-data:www-data /var/log/pveproxy

    [SOLVED] Cannot access WEB GUI

Hi, What user did you run the command as? Could you post the output of: pveversion -v systemctl status pveproxy systemctl status pvedaemon Can the server still be accessed via SSH? I would change this back to '640', as it shouldn't have anything to do with the issue. Best regards, Dylan

Single disk, best practice, delete local-lvm and resize?

There's nothing entirely wrong with doing this, but it depends on what you prefer. The difference will be that on the lvm-thin volume ('data') offers block-level storage with thin-provisioning and snapshots, so the slightly higher performance 'raw' drive type can be used and each VM will get its...

Newbie question on ZFS - using multiple devices as a single logical unit

This quote is somewhat misleading. ZFS doesn't actively/automatically shuffle data around drives. Instead, ZFS uses up to 50% of the system's RAM (depending on availability) for a read cache. This cache is named ARC (Adaptive Replacement Cache). Additionally with ZFS, you can also configure an...

    Reset CPU statistic

PVE rrd data is stored in /var/lib/rrdcached/db/. If you remove all the directories (pve2-node, pve2-storage, pve2-vm) within this directory, all statistics will be reset, and new directories will be created upon the next poll. Note that this is part of the cluster file system, so contains the...

    proxmox backup (vzdump) parallelism ?

The bandwidth option imposes a limit on disk I/O during the backup, so it's not a general limit on VM disk IO, but it would cause additional slowdown during the backup.

    proxmox backup (vzdump) parallelism ?

At the moment, there isn't. However, you can configure a bandwidth limit for vzdump to reduce the load on the NFS server. See the 'bwlimit' option for vzdump [1]. There has been previous discussion regarding the topic on our bug tracker [2]. [1]...
