I'm looking at setting up Proxmox to authenticate against Google's Secure LDAP feature:
https://support.google.com/a/answer/9048516?hl=en
I just wanted to clarify - from reading above and https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/User_Management I'm still a bit hazy on this part.
Do I need to create a...
Hi,
I'm attempting to setup a 3-node Proxmox cluster via the GUI.
I have a separate network for Corosync.
My VM IP addresses are 10.0.12.3, 10.0.12.4 and 10.0.12.5.
My Corosync IP addresses are 10.0.19.3, 10.0.19.4 and 10.0.19.5.
On the first node, I was able to create one successfully...
Got it.
Is there any way to figure out what the bottleneck is in the above? (E.g. network, storage drives, or RAM etc) Or if we've hit some hard limitation in Ceph at this scale etc.
We have a:
3 node cluster running Proxmox/Ceph
Node 1 has 48 GB of RAM, and Node 2 and 3 have 32 GB of RAM
Ceph drives are Intel Optane 900p (480GB) NVMe.
4 OSDs per node (total of 12 OSDs)
NICs are Intel X520-DA2, with 10GBASE-LR going to a Unifi US-XG-16.
First 10GB port is for Proxmox VM...
Finally - I'm at the stage to create a Ceph pool.
In the Proxmox GUI, there's an option to "Add storage":
Even reading the help it's unclear what this actually does:
If you would like to automatically get also a storage definition for your pool, active the checkbox "Add storages" on the...
I can confirm that the ceph-volume command from spirit works =), and it appears in Proxmox GUI after.
Initially, ceph-volume complained about GPT headers on the disk:
ceph-volume lvm batch: error: GPT headers found, they must be removed on: /dev/nvme0n1
Based on this post, I used wipefs to...
This paper seems to suggest 2-4 OSDs per NVMe device.
I'm reading about ceph-volume - if we use that, will it register in the Proxmox GUI? It won't cause any confusion there?
I'm attempting to setup a new 3-node Proxmox/Ceph cluster.
Each node has an Intel Optane 900p (480GB) NVMe drive.
I've read that the recommendation is to setup 4 OSDs per NVMe drive.
Through the Proxmox GUI, I can create a single OSD per disk. However, there's no way to create multiple OSDs -...
HI Richard,
Ok, I only have a single switch for Proxmox's purposes, but it does support VLAN tagging.
Do you mean I should use VLAN access mode (not trunk) for each of these three ports?
What about the VM traffic - if I wanted different VM's on different VLAN's? Or is that not possible with...
I'm trying to setup a 3-node HA cluster for Proxmox, with Ceph as shared storage.
We have a 10G Ethernet switch.
Each node has 2 SFP+ ports (10G), as well as 4 x 1GBase-T ports.
I believe I can use one SFP+ port for VM traffic, and the second for Ceph traffic, correct?
And then I could use...
Interesting - is OAUTH2 authentication available in Proxmox?
All I could find was this discussion thread from March 2018:
https://pve.proxmox.com/pipermail/pve-devel/2018-March/031317.html
but I didn't see if anything became of it?
Yes - but I assume Guacamole would run on the same machine as Proxmox - hence, whether it talks VNC or RDP isn't as important (latency wise).
What is important is the WAN connection from the Proxmox/Guacamole server back to you - if this can run over a more efficient RDP-like connection (via...
What do you think about integrated Apache Guacamole for accessing VM console? (As another option to NoVNC).
Unlike VNC, the protocol seems more similar to RDP, so may perform better over WAN links.
@oguz - I think this is actually something different -
This is for adding a extra 2FA to existing username/password login.
However, I'm looking at replacing the username/password with G Suite logins (i.e. SSO). Has anybody done something similar in Proxmox?
Hi,
Does anybody have any experience with integration Proxmox with G Suite (aka Google Apps) for authenticating to the web interface?
How did you achieve this?
(It seems like one way is to get G Suite Enterprise or Cloud Identity, and use the Secure LDAP product. However, I'm curious how...
Hi,
Is there an up-to-date tutorial on setting up nested VMware ESXi under Proxmox?
I found an older guide from 3 years ago (2016) - https://www.marksei.com/install-esxi-nested-inside-proxmox-ve/ - however, I'm not sure how much of it is still valid/current.
Has anybody done a recent install...
Hi,
I'd like to setup a web proxy on Proxmox, and some Windows clients behind it, to do some testing.
What is the best way of hooking up this networking setup in Proxmox?
Essentially, I'm confused about 1. how to setup two interfaces on the web proxy, one that's bridged, and one in it's own...
Hi,
I'm setting up a new Proxmox machine at home.
I don't currently have an Enterprise subscription. I see from the wiki:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Package_Repositories
that there is:
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch pve-no-subscription
and
deb...
Hi,
I'm trying to install MacOS Mojave on Proxmox.
I read this page:
https://www.nicksherlock.com/2018/04/patch-ovmf-to-support-macos-in-proxmox-5-1/
which mentions you need to patch the OMVF firmware on Proxmox, to get it working with MacOS. Apparently this is due to two custom patches we...
