Hey y'all,
So I wrote a post about this in a post before but it was far too much information and hard to read through, so I am removing the old post and consolidating the information into this post now that I have some more information after exploring a bit. So let's get started.
For my...
Ok so i went ahead and ran the mkfs.ext2 /dev/sdX on every drive that had corrupt GPT tables and now all the disks are appearing in ZFS. That being said, i still cant run fdisk /dev/sdX on 5 of the drives that had this issue. Anyone have any ideas why?
Ok sorry for the constant updates but this is getting very very werid. For the /dev/sdl drive above, even though i got the mkfs errors and cannot access the disks with fdisk, after the mkfs command they are showing up again in ZFS as available drives to add to pools (see picture)? What on earth...
Another update, I ran "mkfs.ext2 /dev/sdl" to re-write the filesystem on the disk due to the bad superblock and this is the output i get:
not going to lie, this isnt looking good. I think the disk actually may be corrupt. Im trying this on the other faulted disks but I anticipate a similar...
another quick update, turns out that i had 2 containers that were using the single disk array (that disk is fine and can be re-added to ZFS) and have removed the .conf files for these so they are no longer showing up in proxmox GUI.
Also to clarify for the above disks that are having the issue...
So I had a lot of issues with wireguard at first but now i have a pretty solid understanding of the install and how to get it to work. That being said the information regarding wireguard issues seems like it can be anything.
The first thing i have to ask is are you receiving handshakes between...
Hey y'all,
So let me preface by saying this is the first time I have dealt with ZFS and ZFS using proxmox. While waiting on 4 drives to arrive to created a RAIDz2 pool, I played around trying to create smaller pools just to get a hang for how it all works. However, now that the disks have...
Alright, so I figured it out, and it was pretty simple :)
For anyone else looking for this solution, in my case, I basically did what I mentioned above and except a little different...

Ahh ok i gotcha, from within the VM this is what fdisk spits out...
NOTE: /dev/sda2 in this case uses ext4 format (/dev/sda2 is primary partition for the VM)

Hey guys,
So I am in the process of trying to increase the disk size of one of my VMs from 750GB -> 1.25 TB. The way I have gone about this (following the wiki) is summarized by the following:
First i went to the VM page via the proxmox web browser control panel.
Then I selected the "Hardware"...
So I tried it and everything was fine with proxmox but the VMs no longer had access to the internet, I assume there was additional configuration needed there maybe? Do you by any chance might know whats up?
Thanks!
Awesome! So would I essentially just create a linux bond with all the eno ports as slaves (also set up IP information) and then edit the current bridge (vmbr0) to use bond0 instead of eno1? (see attached photos for config)
Also, should I be changing the ip address used by the bridge then since...
UPDATE:
Figured out the fix! The first thing I noticed was that the gateway was incorrect  and I must have forgotten to change it to the new subnet. Once I made that change, it was still acting a bit iffy (even with a cold cycle boot) but I was able to solve the issue by pulling down...
Hey guys,
So I am currently running proxmox on my home server and use a ubiquiti controlled VPN to get in and manage the panel. Unfortunately, the default subnet range being used on my home network was 192.168.1.1-255 (it is the same as the range on the router from the remote network I am...
Hey guys,
So a couple weeks ago I decided to start hosting some of my servers that were on a rented VPS at home via a nice homelab solution. I managed to pickup a used poweredge r430 with some nice internals for a couple hundred bucks and its worked like a charm so far (minus the initial driver...
