Re: Proxmox and GlusterFS
Hi, joshin and thank you for your time.
If I mount GlusterFS via fstab than I can't start any KVM guest with cache=none, as GlusterFS does not support direct IO :). Have to choose some cache method and lose in performance. And it is not the default method also. And...
Re: Proxmox and GlusterFS
yes, seems it is not possible without problems.
http://joejulian.name/blog/keeping-your-vms-from-going-read-only-when-encountering-a-ping-timeout-in-glusterfs/
The only use of HA NFS or GlusterFS storages for VM-s are:
1. full proxmox HA cluster (which is overkill for...
Re: Proxmox and GlusterFS
He-he,
and when I manually mount the glusterfs volume on VE host and add new storage as directory in VE GUI, I face the problem with no-cache and the workaround is to manually edit the qemu conf file and again set the path with only one gluster uri :)
Do I understand...
Hey,
What says:
sysctl net.ipv4.ip_forward
on the proxmox VE host ?
and what are you trying to do? Show us the netconfigs (both VE host and VM guest). Also what are firewall rules?
I assume, you want to use both IP-s from your provider: one on the VE host and other on the VM guest? Should...
Re: Proxmox and GlusterFS
Oh, not true.
It seems like after previous restart the VM was mounted from GlusterFS server2 and the server1 restart did not affected it. This time, before restarting the server2, I tested if there was any SYNC jobs before restarting the second one. There was nothing...
Re: Proxmox and GlusterFS
Seems like the problem was that I didn't give enough time to GlusterFS servers to sync and restarted the other server :).
So it seems like everything is working as expected.
Hello, dear community.
I've been using Proxmox for a while (total of 5 years  atm) and now decided to attach GlusterFS storage to proxmox nodes.
Configuration of GlusterFS: replicated volume of two bricks on different servers. Servers are connected over 10G network. Using LSI...

Your attitude is completely wrong. There are a lot of people (inc. myself) that like direct and honest conversations instead of fawning sellers, that will sell and most terrible say you BS and keep smiling.
Now would it be better for you if these guys (proxmox staff) here would...
I'm just wandering, why people care about users complaining about this pop-up, as non-business users won't do that (typically)
Do you guys sell services based on proxmox with its web-interface as-is ? Come on, it is not made for that at all. It is more for enterprise servers consolidating...
people, stop speaking /whining of that nag screen. If you don't like it - remove it by your own hands. Its just 5-sec job to do, if you know what you are doing. Proxmox team has rights to remind users to get subscription to use more stable production version of their software.
but if I have MB with 2 sockets, but only one physical cpu installed? Still have to buy that single cpu licence or the second one? And what about upgrade? After upgrade I have to change the subscription? (So actually have to pay for 3 cpu: once for single and then for double)
Hello again,
I remember I asked this question some time ago, but don't remember if it was fully answered (means not). the iptables is disabled after the installation and the reason is: security. Could someone tell me what wrong with iptables if it is considered as security threat? I like MAC-IP...

Come on. Don't pay nor buy. Just install proxmox and remove that window from login if you don't like it - no one can prohibit you doing this. The product by itself is great and still free (including free of charge). All of us understood already, that you never pay for binaries and...
yeah... a bit more respect. Everyone who is bothered in any way by this message can easily track it down and disable it. and it is not single way to do it, there are many. I think we are able even to compile pve-manager without this function. It does not mean we have to create step-by-steps in...
sorry, but oVirt is another half past dead project (my personal opinion). You should start from getting all these proxmox stuff together by yourself. It is not that hard, when you know what to do. The hardest part will be the new web-interface :)
But calm down, it was just a big...
