Thank you. While I understood it, the confusion comes in I don't see anything identified as a container in the GUI. So that is where the confusion comes in understanding what to backup.
While an interesting read, it didn't explain what containers are as identified in the GUI. Is the role of the container to be VM, but not really be a VM?
The backups are done to an expernal USB drive connected to the node. There has neve been an issue prior to now. What are these errors? What do they mean?
Thanks. How do I know if I have containers? What is the containers used for? When I look at the Web GUI I don't see anything listed as a container. I only see a list of VMs and data storage devices. Is the storage considered the containers?
I guess I don't understand what is meant by each container. That is the part that is confusing to me. What is meant by container? Does that mean each VM? or does that mean the storage system for the Node? My hope was to back up the VMs to and external storage, then move the VMs from node one...
The pricing is unfortunately too expensive for a small organization. Because they are annualized fees we would never get our money's worth as we only need to upgrade every couple years.
In doing back ups of the VMs I get the following errors. Not sure how to fix them. Please advise.
command 'qm set 101400 --lock backup' failed: exit code 25 This VM is shut down.
vma_co_write write error - Broken pipe This VM is running.
volume 'local_data:4145/vm-4145-disk-2.qcow2'...
I would be most grateful if somebody knowledgeable could answer my last set of questions. I have been through the resources and can't find the answer. All help is appreciated.
Can somebody please reply to the questions I have. I am not wanting to create more problems with this upgrade than I solve. Do the VM's have to be converted to each upgrade or can I simply back them all up to a drive then copy them back to the node once it is upgraded to 5.0? Are the VM's...
The instructions state I need to be atleast 3.4 but my version is 3.1-21 So my upgrade page is now
3.1 - 3.4
3.4 - 4.4
4.4 - 5.0
is that correct?
Also If I backup all the VMs does that mean I have backed up all the cluster data? I am becoming worried about my abilities to do this without...
So can I migrate all my VMs from Node one to Node TWO, upgrade Prox on node 1 in two steps, then move the VMs back to node one from node two
Or is it move VMs from Node one to Node two. Upgrade Node one to 4.1 Move the VMs back to node one. Allow what ever conversion is required, move Node...
Currently running 3.121. Can I do an inplace upgrade from that version to 5.0 in a single step or do I need to go to 4.4 first? Please advise. I have two nodes and 20VMs total
BTW the Drives are external USB Seagate Backup Plus drives Seagate says that they don't test their drives in a linux environment. I checked WD and Hitachi, neither do they. So how do I select an external USB drive for backup? My system is quite small which is why we opted for USB drives as...
I recently increased the backup drive from 2TB to 8TB. I restarted backups after the new drive was installed.
However the issue is now it seems that the backup is running beyond 24 hours. This lead to unexpected status the next time that the back was to run, ie the next night. The task...
I guess I am not understanding where that is. I have opened the new VM in proxmox but I don't see the IP of the VM listed as one of the options available. Must this be done at the console level?
