Any idea?

Allright...
Didn't know that.
Do i have to remove the cpan modules before i start installing the debian packages?
And if so, how would i preferably do that?
Thank you
Sascha
Noone can give me a hint?
The problem seems to be, that there is no prebuilt packages for the needed perl-plugins in lenny.
But maybe someone can point me to some plan b...
Thank you very much

Hi!

While setting it up on my Proxmox server i found out that...
Hi!
ups...really didn't know that...
What would be the best way to configure a bridged second NIC with proxmox?
I need two (or more) NICs in the samte 10.0.0.x network with different IPs but using the same gateway (10.0.0.1).
Then i would like to allocate the cards to specific guest systems...
tried another Networkcard too...
to no avail!
This is really strange. I am sure that something is just misconfigured, only i can't find what...
Thanks for your answers
Sascha
Hi Dietmar,

# network interface settings
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet manual

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet...

Hi!
I installed a debian-machine to work as a NFS-Share for my Proxmox VE Backups.
However i don't want the machine to be online 24/7, so i configured the computer to turn on right before the backup (Wakeup in BIOS) and off just after it (cronjob).
Unfortunately i have some problems with the...
Hi Dietmar,
thanks for your quick response.
I retried the backup today and it worked like a charm...
Strange...will monitor things for a while...
Thanks again, but i guess we can close this for now!
Sascha
Hi everyone,
just installed a second computer with ubuntu as an nfs-storage.
The new nfs-storage is perfectly mounted under my proxmox-ve now, and the backup starts to work.
But after a while the backup stops and in the generated .log i see this:
Aug 18 16:13:01 INFO: Starting Backup of VM 101...
Hi all!
i now encountered the problem as well...
Anyone has any idea what we could do?
this is a real show stopper, as the software installed on the win7-vm doesn't work at all without the usb dongle...
regards, Sascha
Yup...
sfill -llz /home
did the trick!
backup shrinked from 234 GB to 208 GB...
next weekend i'll do a
sfill -llz /var/
and i guess that will release another 60 GB or so...
Thank you very much for your assistance
Sascha
Allright, thank you for now.
I found this thread here, explaining pretty well, which possibilities one seems to have:
http://superuser.com/questions/19326/how-to-wipe-free-disk-space-in-linux
I guess i'll go for
sfill -llz /home
and see if that helps...
Will report...
thank you
Sascha
Hi Dietmar,
of course the dir exists!
With this command the ooooo.ooo something file is created and the after a long while deleted again.
But the result is an even bigger backup.
Maybe this command doesn't fill the empty space with zeros but with digits still readable by the backup?
What would...
Oh, i see...
So if i got that right from another thread here, sfill would be the tool to use?
Can i securely wipe the unused blocks from my kvm-debian macine with it?
And if yes, any idea how?
Or is an approach with dd maybe more suitable?
I don't want to do anything stupid, so i better ask...
sfill could be very handy for my backup size problem.
(the backup size keeps growing)
On my KVM-VM with two VDs on an external iscsi storage:
How would i use it to free already empty space for good?
Shouldn't touch any real data of course...
thanks for your advice
Sascha
