You are right. It doesn't set the password because of the encryption. Too bad Proxmox doesn't fix this already. Maybe you can release a patch for Proxmox 6.x meanwhile. This will be appreciated.- eranj

Restrict root access to Proxmox web interface
How do I restrict root access to the web interface, but also allow users to login and manage only their VPS? I would like to allow root access only from one IP. Thanks!- eranj
