You need a 64bit os and a 64 bit capable raspberry pi (>= Raspberry Pi 2 V1.2). I use Raspberry Pi OS (64 bit) beta which works fine for me, except missing kernel headers, which make it a little bit difficult to install wireguard. But I got around that too.
