Mittlerweile habe ich es rausgefunden und es hat funktioniert. Ich hab eine neue vHDD angelegt mit entsprechend reduzierter Kapazität. Dann die VM mit Gparted live gestartetund die einzenen Partitionen einfach mit copy/paste kopiert. Alte Platte "detached" und mit der Neuen gestartet .... voila!
