Hey y'all, I'm trying to get Proxmox installed on several older machines. These machines are running ASRock X99M Killer motherboards with Intel 5820K CPU's. When I run the Proxmox installer, and choose terminal installation, it appears to work for several seconds until the machine reboots...
Re: Venet use in container takes several seconds to establish outbound network connec
I fixed my own problem, sort of. The container in question was migrated from a non-Proxmox OpenVZ node, and it still had the old tcpsndbuf limits. Now that the container is being used more, these limits were...
I've been using PVE 1.5 on a few hosts running a mix of KVM and OpenVZ guests. Rather suddenly, one of my OpenVZ guests that uses only venet interfaces is having network connectivity issues. Outbound connections all complete, but each session takes several seconds to start transferring data...
I replaced the spaces with underscores in the file name, and lo and behold...it works!
The ISO displays as mounted in the web interface and the VM boots off of it just fine. It might be cool if there was some error message that is displayed if spaces are part of the ISO file name...
Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 SPLA.ISO
Are you suggesting the presence of spaces in the file name are enough to make this not work? That'd be funny.
I can boot other ISO's, like Acronis restore CD's and Windows Server 2003. I just can't seem to boot the DVD ISO for Windows Server 2008. It's present and it functions, as I can map it to a VM and open it up to do an upgrade install, I just can't boot off of it. It is somewhat strange as when...
Tom,
After troubleshooting this a fair amount, I have to say it's not an ISO issue. I can boot a VMWare VM off of the ISO just fine everytime. I tried re-ripping it using a different utility, which generated a slightly larger ISO file, but it too wouldn't be recognized as a boot device.
I...
I was wondering if that might be the case. I created the image using ISORecorder from the Volume License DVD that we have. I guess I was expecting an error message from ISORecorder if it couldn't create a true ISO from the disc.
I've searched this forum and elsewhere for a reason for this, but I can't find one. I'm trying to boot a KVM guest off of a Windows Server 2008 DVD ISO. I made the ISO from one of my discs. It has the Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter options for installation.
When I try to boot the guest...
Doesn't it seem more logical to switch to a different, KVM-specific, management interface instead of asking the Proxmox team to abandon more than half their user base?
I think it would be better to spend time pushing the OpenVZ devs into supporting a newer kernel. They can't avoid it forever. ;)
I, personally, couldn't live without OpenVZ. Other virtualization solutions are just too slow.
Sorry, I was hoping to be brief yet complete enough to obtain a response.
I've actually, due to severe power issues at one of our datacenters last night, elected to move all CT's off of the problem host and wipe it out for a rebuild. As such, I'm going to stick with a network config that would...
I'm finally starting to add more PVE servers to my infrastructure, so I'm trying to setup a cluster for the first time. I'm having some problems with the cluster config using vmbr0 on my master node. It wants to use that instead of eth0, which is what I need it to use (private LAN instead of...
When I first installed PVE via the 1.0 CD, the VNC console option worked just fine. I haven't used it for a couple weeks, and no changes to the hardware node have been made (not even a reboot). After creating a new OpenVZ container, I get an error when trying to use the VNC console:
Network...
