All,
Just some feedback on my problem. In the end I gave up on XP SP3 x86 and used Windows Server 2003 R2 x86 instead as XP just wasn't stable with the Virtio drivers.
I used virtio-win-0.1-52.iso (latest RH stable) and installed the Virtio drivers for network, storage and the baloon driver...
Tom/ebiss,
Thanks for the help. I tried virtio-win-0.1-49.iso using qcow2 rather than raw files and all was ok for a while but then the BSOD again when applying the 125 windows XP patches required. I noticed that the vm's I have had no issues with are using raw files, is there some problem...
Hi,
I'm running the latest pve 2.3 with a varied selection of Windows Server 2003 / Windows XP SP3 vm's under KVM but since mistakenly updating one of the Win XP machines to the latest RHEL stable virtio drivers (virtio-win-0.1-52.iso) it now BSOD's on boot. Can anyone suggest a release of the...
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a best practice for setup of the video driver / settings on Windows 7 to ensure that Clearview works correctly. I have not had any issues with Windows XP (using Cirrus Logic GD5446) via RDP on Proxmox 2.3-13. When the desktop is viewed through the Proxmox...

No, I used "qemu-img convert -f vmdk -O raw -o size=24G WindowsXP.vmdk WindowsXP.raw" under debian (the Proxmox host machine). I used the -o option to try and reduce the size of the disk but that did not work. It is the same process I used to convert some other virtual machines and they are...
I would add that I currently have 2 Windows 2003 Server instances running under Proxmox, as well as 2 Windows XP instances I use for testing, and a copy of Debian 5 running OpenStore, all of which run perfectly. Having tried to setup ESXi server on the same host (and failed, due to the 3Ware...
I have been trying to migrate some existing VMware vm's to Proxmox; some have worked whilst others display the bios error "Error loading operating system". To transfer them I cloned the original vm under VMware Workstation (non-linked clone) so as to get a single .vmdk file, which I transfered...
