    kvm VM won't boot xp

Sorry, but Windows XP can only boot as a KVM machine. Did you use that option when creating the VM ? And, in my 1.7 web interface, I cannot choose SCSI as CDROM. So what are you doing precisely ? Did you upload an XP CDROM iso on the server ? If you do not give more details, we cannot help...

Network errors and web interface hangs with PVE 1.7 kernel 2.6.35 on Dell servers

Network errors and web interface hangs with PVE 1.7 kernel 2.6.35 on Dell servers

Hi all, I have a cluster with four Dell servers, and am seeing network errors and experiencing web interface hangs on two of them of the last generation (PE R710 and PE R610). These errors do not appear on the other two, older servers (PE 2950 and PE 2900). PE R710 is the master node, and when...

When can we expect a new proxmox-ve version based on Debian Squeeze ?

I understand, but there could be some time before 2.0 would be released. There is certainly some developpement still to do, and then one or more beta before final release. And moreover, The migration path for existing installation could be hard to follow, or even a bit risky, if I consider all...

When can we expect a new proxmox-ve version based on Debian Squeeze ?

I agree, it would be a step towards 2.0, as there was others, and this would ease at the end the migration to 2.0. Alain

When can we expect a new proxmox-ve version based on Debian Squeeze ?

Hi Udo, pve 2.x will be based on Squeeze (at least it was announced), but I see no problem to release a new 1.x (x>7) based on Squeeze, even if it does not have all the features announced for 2.x. In fact, only if it provided the points I mentionned (ext4, Dell OMSA support...), it will be...

When can we expect a new proxmox-ve version based on Debian Squeeze ?

Hi, Debian Squeeze is planned to be released on February 5/6. When can we expect a new version of Proxmox-ve based on Squeeze ? Will it takes weeks or days ? From my point of view, a proxmox-ve version based on squeeze would be interesting on at least two aspects : - ext4 as default file...

    virtualbox

I can add that KVM was developed by Qumraned, which was bought by Red Hat two years ago. In contrast to Oracle, Red Hat always released the products it bought in close source, as GPL products. Red Hat make money from support. And Red Hat is very active in the development of KVM, which is the...

Shawn, you are kidding or it's a troll ? You are on a Proxmox forum here. Proxmox ve is a professional virtualization solution developped under GPL license. It is aimed at a professional solution, as it has for example a bare metal installer, like VMWARE ESX. It has also many nice features...
